How 'bout these....tree swing, canning jars, hay stack, weather vane, barn quilt, round barn, silos, crop circles, combine, fruit trees, pie on the sill, and a frustrated farm wife--maybe hands on the hips or weilding a broom or wooden spoon?! A rake, a hoe, a wagon...

How about a lady farmer? somewhere I read that half the farms in America are being run by women.
    and this:
Farms look like quilts from the air.
Farming is detailed but not overwhelmingly so...each job can be broken down into simple tasks - repeated over and over just like quilts.
Women are good at remembering detail and dealing with it, in both farming and quilting!
I was a teen age farm gal. I did every thing needed on that farm the men did , plus raised chickens.
I bet I could still win a contest of backing and parking a two-wheeled manure spreader exactly between marks!
( and if you haven't tried it - they wobble and twist on those two wheels like crazy!) LOL!
    Probably this doesn't help much....

Pearl and Martin are beauties. And the dancing cows are hilarious. Sounds like a number of us live one farms, and probably run them most of the time. I drive the backhoe, feed that cattle, etc, etc. So, I think making a woman driving a tractor is an excellent idea. I think both my mother and MIL learned to drive on tractors--that would make a great block too. But, plenty of times I've set off after a misbehaving animal with whatever was handy (to protect myself, and be more menacing, not to hurt them, even if I feel like it!) So I qualify as the frustrated farm wife (bad fences will do that) too. I spent so much time trying to keep cattle were they belonged, or put them back where they belonged, wearing my daughter on my back, that she used to take the whip from my hand and yell, "ha-ha." My ranching grandfather thought that was so funny he made her her own little whip with a riding crop. I lost a lot of weight one summer chasing cattle around the oat field while wearing my daughter -- best weight loss program I've ever had.
