Here's my next set! It's a fatcat pattern. They're pretty fun to make, just need to sew it down now.
Hope you like it. I'm thinking of trying a red or blue work for my next set too!

How cute muse and sew! I also cut out and ironed on two sets of funky applique chickens this morning. I won't show it until it is finished though. I was in here checking on how many to send and if I get one back in this swap. ???

I am not sure about my blue roosters. They have a couple with little bobbin nests on the back of them that my machine made. I have made ten of them, so maybe of all of them I can get the six made. Sheesh, a day's work so disappointing.

I also ordered a pattern from ebay that I might use for this swap as well a rooster and a hen. I haven't come across a barn yet I liked.

Everyone, yes you will get back one block of each set you make!

Red, you don't have to make a barn if you'd don't want to. Chickens are fine.
Looking forward to seeing your blocks!

Remember, a chicken lives in a hen house not a barn anyway. Oh you can make one up Red.

I still can see my aunt's hen house in the Ashville n.c. area.(Canton if anyone knows it) It was very long and narrow and deserted for years. LOL! She told the story of how the government subsidized the whole operation during the war effort. It was a long time ago and I can't remember all the details. But she used her egg money for little things for the house.

Do you have pictures? Pretty cool to have help & lots of chickens. My husband's parents had an old cement chicken
that they made into a garage on his parents property. Nothing like a few chickens to help with all the bugs too.

Red, I'd love to see a hen house for the swap too! Could be fun!

I am sorry I don't muse and sew. I was pretty young when we were there last. But, it was a long grey wood building with in a long row windows that lined the top middle section the whole length of the side walls. It had a typical walk up plank and like I said, deserted with berry vines covering part of it. It was up above the orchard and I didn't walk up to it since it was fenced off with chicken wire. I can still hear the red birds off in the distance while standing there. Funny the things you remember.

I have decided not to send the blue work ones. I wouldn't want someone to be upset over a non perfect block. The fronts were fine, but the tail ends of the bobbin thread were nested so tight, I couldn't get them out.

Love your description of your aunt's hen house! Memories are great!
Sorry you had such a hard time with the blue work! Bummer!
