Six minutes after midnight here. Do you ever get something in your head and can't do anything until it comes out? Well, that happened to me tonight. I forced myself to finish the fireworks set that I was working on but then I just had to see if the idea zooming around in my head would work. It did, sort of but I'm going to keep this one for myself because I don't want to make five more of them. I'll show it anyway but I think I'll go around the house with more dark stitching.

    Second set

I won't be making anymore of this one. It was a pain. Darker background would have worked better but I just had to try it.

rapture, those are great! I love the fireworks set . . . so much fun! Too bad the other was a pain to make. The selvages give the look of weathered clapboard siding. Very cute to add to your own collection. Would you mind if I borrow your idea to make one for my own collection too? It's very darling.

You are welcome to use the idea. I used the selveges of the fabrics that I picked out to do my houses in. It was just one of those weird ideas that pop into my head and I had to try it. I've never used selveges before and found out that they have a tendency to pucker a little. Maybe a zigzag stitch would have worked better than a straight stitch.

Retirement affords quite a bit of time. Also, age affords quite a bit of forgetfulness. I'm afraid if I don't do them now I'll forget until it's too late. However I do have to stop for awhile now. I have a nightgown and housecoat to make, four painting projects to prep by the 21st, pack for a retreat, three BOM's and a strips and scraps club to get ready for all in the next two weeks. Then I'm going to Paducah on the 22nd and the three day painting retreat on the 23rd. After that I'll probably make some more. I'm finding that I'm really enjoying doing this and I've got a few more ideas running rampant up there.

Rapture, I LOVE the new fireworks! Yes, I do like these better than the 1st one, but it was good too! I really like your selvage one...did you prewash those???? I would think they would pucker...but they really look cool!
