Oh good, another builder has joined our efforts. I'm going to be offline and out of town for a few days after tomorrow. PADUCAH Thursday--and I've got a couple houses in mind that I want to try to find fabric for. Then Fri, Sat, and Sun is my annual painting retreat. YEA!!! I'm really excited about both.
Just in case I don't find it, if anyone has any police fabric with cars, badges or handcuffs on it, how about doing a set of House Arrest houses?!?!?!?!

Sounds good to me, I love monkeys and sometimes I think that I'm living in a house like that. There's a big ape here that gets on my nerves sometimes.

rapture, I just keep finding myself staring at your avatar and was wondering if you could tell me where to find a pattern for it. Sorry this has nothing to do with houses, but I just can't put off asking anymore

The original quilt that I saw was called Sunset and it was from Clothilde. However, other than the general concept there wasn't much I liked about theirs. So I sat down with graph paper and drew out my own directions that suited my needs. My blocks are 16 1/2" square and I used 20 of them. A design/layout board was a MUST for me.
    White: 3 1/2" squares--5per block
    3 1/2"x 7 1/2"---4 per block
colors are two 2"x width sewn together.
    color cuts: 3 1/2"x6 1/2"
3 1/2"x 12 1/2" one of each of 4 different sets per block.
I used left over strips to make the border. Since I was stash busting I have no idea how much fabric I used, I know I have several baggies left over, probably enough to make a couple of king size rail fence quilts.

You're adding and I'm taking away. I was going to make a new dress today to wear to Paducah. Then I decided to wear the same one I wore last year because I'd made a purse/shopping bag that matches. Well, the denim dress has faded and the shopping bag hasn't but right now, I DON'T CARE!!! I'm going to wear it anyway. Now maybe after I get everything for the weekend packed, I just might have time to do some houses. !!!!
