    "In the Garden"

This is a swap for Garden Theme blocks. It can be floral, butterfly or any type garden print made into quilt block pattern. Or an appliqué flower, bird, butterfly, dragonfly, a scarecrow, or anything else you might find in a garden.

Each swapper will send one or more sets of 6 blocks. Each block should be
12 1/2" in size. The 6 blocks do not have to be the same.

International is welcome just be sure to include postage.

(REVISION ) You can send more than 2 sets.
The minimum is two sets per swapper.

Deadline for sign up is June 30. Please do not sign up until you have your blocks all made and ready to mail.

Blocks must be mailed in time get to me no later than July 15.

Please use pre washed fabric. Please refer to the General Swap Rules for fabric selection tips.

The swap is open to all experience levels.

Please check your blocks before you send them to ensure the following:
-Seam allowances should be a minimum of 1/8”; ¼” is preferred. The blocks we swap should be constructed so that they can hold up to machine washing.
-Please check to make sure there are no holes in your blocks.
-Please check to make sure that the seam allowances have not frayed so much they won’t survive machine washing.
-Please measure carefully to ensure that the blocks are 12-1/2” x 12-1/2”.
-Please keep in mind that all appliquéd blocks MUST have the pieces sewn down in some manner and that “plain” fabric blocks (just cut up squares) will not count as “swap” blocks.

Please understand that I will have no choice but to return blocks that are not the right size or that are not constructed to survive machine washing.

Blocks should be mailed to me in a ziploc baggie inside an envelope, with your name and board name on each individual block. You need to include a Flat Rate envelope with postage on it for me to send your return blocks. The return blocks probably will be be different sizes than ones you sent in and postage is difficult to figure out, therefore, the Flat Rate envelopes work very well.

Please understand that any blocks I receive after the deadline will be returned unswapped. I will not be able to delay the mail-back waiting for late blocks.

All of the general rules for swaps also apply here. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm.

please clarify: "plain" fabric blocks will not count. If I made a block - for example a 9 patch - but it is made from floral or garden theme fabric, would that count?

being international I can't send postage so i will send the cash. I am not sure if i will have a chance to get them all done by June 30 as I am on vacation for a lot of May. If I do have time I will definitely sign up...great idea Debbie#1 :)

It means taking fabric and cutting it into a 12 1/2" square. A 9 patch is fine.
Debe you know you want to.

Hmmmm.... this could be fun. I'll see if I can manage some blocks.

How come every one is doing sets of 6 lately?

What a fabulous spring theme!!! I could use something like this given the dreary week we've had up here. Given the amount of rain we've had there better be TONS of May flowers. :)

I guess I need to go shopping before I can sign up. ;)

Thank you for hosting this Crafty.
