Those are great preemie quilts, Anna! I do see two of mine in the girl's version. I make some a bit bigger for our children's hospital, to cheer up sick kids who are bedridden and can't play much else besides I spy from bed. It's very rewarding knowing they comfort a little person!

My youngest son was also 6 weeks premature, and now he's a big 6 foot tall galoot! They do grow... Congrats on the triplets! Bet they keep the family busy.

Oldcatlady, I like your fabrics! I'm hoping I end with a piece of the spiders, too....

Thank you for sharing your story about your youngest son. Stories like that are very encouraging at this point to our family.

Annaquilts- My oldest had heart surgery at 6 days old, after being sent to another city. She was in the NICU for 5 weeks. She was given a beautiful quilt, which was the only pretty, girly, homey thing in her room, since we just had to up and move cities for that time. We still treasure it! They are so special, especially at a time when you feel like everything is falling apart. She's now 6 and wild and crazy after 3 open heart surgeries. I promise that there will be a point when it will all seem like a distant memory.

Love the little quilts - always a great need for them. The church where I knit on Wed's knits preemie blankets for our local hospital - they are sometimes the only thing a parent has to remember the little life that was.

I had hoped to participate this go round, but have been sick in bed for 3 weeks - so will pick up again the next go round. Have some new fabric to swap with - and always enjoy going through the softies when they arrive. I am still going through and looking at the many cute winter/holiday square from the last twist. Thinking on how to make them into quilts -

I went to mail mine in the city where I work but the clerk did not like the way I folded the flap so wouldn't take it! I folded it past the line that was scored. I swear they all make up their own rules. I have mailed it like that dozens of times and there is nothing on the envelope that says "must fold here". I'm getting really tired of the postal system. I wish there was an alternative. Anyway, I came home and dropped it in the box at the post office so I don't have a tracking number. I've mailed them that way lots of times without a problem so we'll see.

I have too... that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today. Bureaucrats!
