Gwyn did you decide what you are doing for your row? I think flowers would be easier than teapots.

Yes, I made a final decision today. I'm doing the theme My Favorite Things. Each of you get to add a row of your favorite things. Sorry, but I really did decide today. I thought about doing the song, but it doesn't include 2 of my favorite things, my sewing machine and fabric. So, I just made a list of my favorite things and eliminated until I had the top 5. How does that sound?

February 1st is TUESDAY. I hope you are all busy as beavers getting your first row ready to send off. The 15th will come very quickly after we turn the page on Monday night. I don't want anyone left behind. Please, let me know if you are having or will have a problem. We can work around problems we know about.

I have my plan, but it is still a drawing and my sewing room is still a mess, but I'm going back in there tonight to see if I can get the machine uncovered, the iron plugged in and ironing board up and put up my cutting/work table. Have help tomorrow for shelves and other big stuff. Got to get sewing...

Hm, I will definitely have some eliminating because the top 5 of my favorite things do not tranlate well to quilt. lol

I think I'm going to go back to an idea I had. How about my favorite quilt square. That is really easy and would make a sampler sort of quilt. I don't really want people to struggle over this, but I am having a hard time choosing.

My secret garden could just be things you would find in a garden...flowers, butterflies, a bird house, a play house, bird bath or small pond, different kinds of flowers, birds,

I actually have a secret garden made after my girlhood desire for a secret place to play.

I really think my favorite quilt block or pattern would be the easiest for everyone to do.

That is beautiful. I think I'm going to go with My Favorite Quilt Squares. It will just be easier. I'll try and get mine put together this week so I'm ready to mail out on the 15th.

    Again, I like your row.

Gwyn, I was just kidding. I can easily do favorite things if that is what you want to do. This should be a win-win for all of us.

I actually colored my row on grid paper to see what needs to be red-white and blue. My blocks all come from the It's OK book. I noticed that I really like symmetry, so my row only has 3 blocks. Center block and then 2 that are the same on each side. Funny how our preferences speak to us in quilting, don't you think?

Liking the horses. I think I have some of that fabric too.

My problem is I see too many choices and I can't decide. I do like sampler quilts so I'm sticking with the favorite quilt squares or patterns. Of course I had to par that list down a long way too. I'm not exactly sure how much experience we all have so choosing favorite blocks should be something everyone will enjoy. I'm not even going to restrict colors. I love them all. I found a really cute crayon fabric to back it with and a fabric that has crayons all lined up like in a box. If I need too, I may use it as a border to sort of wind it up together. At any rate, I plan to use it for binding.

I think I will do a My Favorite Things quilt in this same style, but follow the song or actually represent all my favorite things. My secret garden I really want to do. I need to get the embroidery program for my daughter's machine in order to really do it well. I can see lots of different possibilities with it.

After my first experience with a row robin, I'll know better how to choose a theme. One I thought of was "Oh Moda Me" made with moda theme fabrics. I also love Sunbonnet Sue & Overall Sam which would also be a fun row robin quilt.

Okay: We have one row ready, and 2 rows planned. How are the rest of you doing? Please at least let us know you are alive and kicking. Mailing date is a mere 15 days away. Some squares take a few minutes to finish. Let's see what you have going...
