Okay, so if someone in your group specifically does or doesn't want something, do they send that info with their center, or should we be asking each person when we add their border? For example, if a person sends a batik center, should they specify 'batik only' if that's what they want? And do people say that they don't want embellishments or raised things? I've seen some amazing quilts on the current RR threads, but I sometimes wonder if a conversation went on behind the scenes.

I would suggest that you let all the others in your group come up with their own creations for your border. There are a couple of reasons...1 being that with some of the internationals...fabric is much harder to come by. They will make decisions based on their skill level AND on the available fabrics. 2...if you want to limit or dictate what someone can and can't put on your center..why don't you just keep it and do your own RR at home and skip paying the postage? You need to let others have the freedom to add things. They will do things that you wouldn't even think about..thats the fun of the whole thing. Of course you can put your preference for color scheme or something like that...

Oh, for mine, it's a free-for-all. I'm just worried I'll hurt someone's feelings if I don't do what they want.

I'll be elaborating more on the rules/borders once I get the groups out.
Limiting what people can or cannot do for borders takes away from the fun of the Round Robin. I suggest, as Patti said, let people do what they think the center needs. Specify colors and such, but not how the border should look.

I do want to emphasize that if you are unsure that you can't commit to a year of this, PLEASE back out now! It's hard to find people in "mid-stream" to fill in.

Also, check your PMs to make sure you do not have one from me. I have a few people that have signed up and failed to give me their e-mail addys. I have PMd them back and have not heard back from them as of yet. If I don't hear back from them, they will be deleted from the Round Robin. I cannot send out group information without e-mail addresses.

Once groups go out, yes, you can send.
I'm working diligently on them as I type, but it's going slow.

So I think I am going to use one of these bear blocks for my center. I know it's kind of cheating. I think I like the first one best, but thought I would get other opinions.
