Hawaii would really be nice right about now, but I'd have a hard time lugging my sewing machine and getting all the stuff done that I'd like to get done... ENJOY your trip though!! Eat some pineapple for me! I love it fresh like that!

Now Ninnie....maybe you should go for the state bird or flower or something....

Ninnie, you have a whole bunch of options for NC. You have the Blue Ridge Mountains, (my favorite in all the world!), the Appalachians, as well as the Cherokee Indians (and others), the Wright Brothers. All sorts of stuff. And if you just want to do local, think of your home in the trees in spring and autumn!

The swap is still open. We have 55 wild and wonderful swappers so far. The more the merrier, so let me know if you would like to join us.

I live in the Bay Area, near Berkeley CA. I also live near SF and both cities were home of the original hippie movement. Also, Berkeley is where so many protests and other civil rights movements were born... I was thinking of doing a big peace sign on tye-dye...do you think that's CA enough, or should I stick to things that are more like state symbols? Perhaps I should wait to see if my recipient is more of an "old-fashioned" quilter, or a "mod" type...Someone who likes more traditional quilting may not want a giant peace sign for a quilt...also, I think for some folks, the movements that have come out of Berkeley have not gone over well...

I'd love to hear opinions on this type of doll quilt...

I'm an old fashioned quilter, Esq., and I love your idea for a jpeace sign! the great thing about this swap is that we get quilts that we normally wouldn't make. And we get new ideas from all of them! :-D

I'm thinking of joining, but I have a question first. Am I making a quilt that represents where I am from? Or do I do a quilt that represents where my partner is from? I was confused because I thought I saw that some people are starting already.

I thinking about this one. So, since I'm from Colorado it would be something connected to that?
