Like Sandpat, I used to love to have my jeans bell bottoms cover my shoes. I was pretty young in the 60's, but that style continued on into the 70's.

I now own several pairs of low rise jeans (used to be called hip huggers) that have large bell bottoms. I don't wear them as often as the more tame boot cut jeans, and mostly because I have a hard time finding shoes that I like to wear with bell bottoms - nothing beats the platform for that look!! And I can't wear platforms anymore. It's bad enough the heels I wear for work when I'm in my monkey suits...on my days that I dress more casually, I will NOT wear heels. It's tennis shoes (sneakers), flip flops or something very easy to slide into...

I'm a child of the 60's my first sewing project was bell bottoms love Cher. I used 3 or 4 yds of fabric on each leg! They were big bell bottoms I could make a good size quilt if I kept them!Moosegirl

Remember the bells that Charo used to wear? They could each be used as a square dance skirt.

You did it now K! Everyone is going to have to have a pair of them. Don't let any kids see them! None of my kids or g-kids can believe what we used to wear and they are going full circle on some of it. And they think they thought it up!! So funny!!!!!

I was VERY young in the sixties, but I agree that everything has come back! Okay, I wasn't that young! I need to scan in my purple, plaid, bell bottom suit with floppy hat outfit... It would make everyone of "our" age pee a little with laughter! LOL!

The levi bell bottoms weren't big enough for me... I cut up the legs to the knees and added more fabric wedges into them... I had such "flair" back then 8-)8-)8-)

Love the picture Kwhite!!! I really wanted those back then :D:D:D

Let's see your picture Chele!!! :D:D:D
