I received a clever goldfish themed doll quilt from Janis, in exchange for my Japanese-themed one. I put my prize up in my office to remind me of the U.S.

RHONDA!! yours for Jan is done!! I'm not really liking what I did for the quilting, but hubby says it's fine.

Wow, that red one is interesting and the gold fish is neat. What pattern is that on the fan looking quilt??

Gaijin 's center block is New York Beauty, and the ones around it are crowns for the place she lives in Japan, 8 princesses.

The reason for the goldfish on the quilt I made is to represent Grassyfork Fisheries. It was started in the early 1900's in Martinsville IN where I live, and in the 1930 was said to be the largest goldfish hatchery in the world. It was bought out by Ozark Fisheries in 1970, and is still in operation under the Ozark name and is the longest one in operation. A little bit of history.

The fan-looking pattern is "New York Beauty" surrounded by eight "Crown" blocks.
