looks like I'm the last one to post but I do have a really good reason, I promise! Does having a sewing machine full of plaster dust qualify as a good reason?

I've had a builder doing some work in my bathroom, and the schedule was that he's be sanding the plaster next week. I came home last week to find plaster dust everywhere! It got into the wardrobe, the drawers, the kitchen cupboards...and my sewing machines!!!! I freaked out because one of them is my rather expensive embroidery machine!! Slight heart failure when I saw that! Needless to say the builder got a stern talking to. I'd planned to take the machines over to my neighbours while he was sanding so that they were no where near the dust.

So, I've spent the past week taking the machines apart, cleaning every speck of plaster dust I can find, giving them a fresh oil, and last night finally put them back together. Tonight is the test run of both machines, and the over locker to make sure they are all running smoothly. So all going to plan, my post card will be in the mail Friday morning.

Yes that definitely counts as a near disaster. We just did the same things to our walls in the Living Room and Hall Way. OMG, the amount of dust! And, it seemed to get in every stinking room. It was awful. A total house cleaning was necessary. At least I rolled into my pre-Christmas cleaning.

its absolutely everywhere! I had to wash everything in my wardrobe and drawers, the entire contents of the kitchen, every possible surface in the house. It was so bad I didn't even know where to begin. It took 4 hours just to get the bedroom dust free enough to sleep in!

But the good news is that all machines passed the test last night - all working beautifully - thank goodness!!!!!! So my post card will definately be in tomorrow mornings post.

wendig, there isn't a word to describe the mess! But the machines are cleaned, oiled and working, thank goodness. The postcard is finished and will be in the mail tomorrow - will take a little walk to the post office on my lunch break if its not too hot. If it is, I'll be lazy and drive around the corner! lol
