Default Wonderful package

I received a wonderful package from lauriejo. I am so glad it arrived today. It really brightened my day. I received Airheads, (my favorite) 2 types of cappuccino mix which I can really use today, its cold here, 2 rotary cutter blades, a portable sewing kit that I am going to take to work for my girls to use, emeryboard, postcard from Ohio, yarn for my new craft of crocheting, a book to read that looks really good called Sew Deadly, a visitors guide for northeast Ohio, a "Big Block Quilts by Magic" book that looks like it has some really nice patterns, an applecore template on a keyring, and various fabrics. I absolutely LOVE everything in this package. Thanks so very much lauriejo. And thanks for the hand written notes.

Oh, the packages are amazing this month! Such wonderful handmade things, magazines, notions, patterns and candy. I'm patiently awaiting the delivery of my SP's package as well as my own. Delivery might be in question because of the snow we're getting. Anticipation.....

Thumbs up January SP swap gifts

Goooooooodddddddd morningggggggggggg world!
(heck NO I am not that darn cheerful its all an act).

Well I survived my two quizzes from yesterday, got
a 89.3% on one and 80% on the other. Not as good as
I would have liked but they are passing grades so I am
not going to complain to bad.

Ready for the pictures? I got up early this morning and
as soon as my daughter went to work, than the hubs left
I pulled out my camera and laid my wonderful goodies on
the bed for their photography session.

Here goes.

From wanda lou I received:

3 different fabrics, McCall's pattern, purse size sewing
kit,Fons & Porter used needle case, Mary Kay lotion, spool
of white thread with a homemade flower pincushion it is
so small its adorable (story at the end about this), and
last but not least a package of seasoning to make the BEST
chili! "Cincinnati Chili" (another story about how I know about
this chili).

From catpaski I received:

4 different orange family fabrics, package of 2 "Mary Engelbreit"
emery boards, 3 different envelopes of bigalow tea, a hand exercize
ball (story about these at the end), patterns galore 5 of the "free"
patterns from Joanns, one "Wool Pillow" pattern, a package of
"Mary
Engelbreit" note cards (the emery boards also have the tea pot on them),
a Paula Dean "jar grip" and last but not least a package of Paula Dean
recipes cards.

Now for the little "stories" as mentioned above.
Mr. "dude" (Gizmo), had to be on the bed to "watch"
me unpack my goodies for taking the pictures. Soon as
he saw the pincushion he leaped, nabbed, and took off
with it, I had to chase him all through the house just
to get it back. He was not happy with me for taking a
way what he tried to lay claim too. He followed me back
to the bedroom and proceeded to continue watch me take
the pictures. Silly kids are ALWAYS trying to steal my
stuff.

Now about the Cincinnati chili - my best friend of 32 years
(she is 10 years older, and I was her oldest daughters babysitter).
Both her and her husband are from Cincinnati, and back in 1980
her husband worked for the local tv station, there was a special
"shindig party" for cast members of the than popular tv show
"WKRP in Cincinnati" the next day one of the local radio stations
had the guy who played Les Nessman (Richard Sanders) on as a
guest and they were taking calls for questions, so I called and
asked him if he every heard about or had any of the Cincinnati
chili. His reply was "you know, someone asked me about the chili
last night at the station party". He said when they went back into
production for the new season he was going to ask about it. I don't
know if he ever did or not though.

Now the little story about those "hand exercise balls" I have bought
4 of them since the first time I saw them at Joanns, and everytime
I do Gizmo and his sister Nim find them (no matter WHERE I hide them)
and takes off and turns them into their "play toys" or "kick balls" if
you would rather call them that. They play together slapping them up
and down the hall. But when I TRY to take them away one or the other
ill grab and run and I don't see the balls for ages. I finally gave up trying
to take back what is mine from the little thieves.
BUT they will NOT get my new one!!! of that I can promise. I am going to
put it in a glass canning jar and let them "see" it and laugh because they can't
get to it. When I want/need it I will use it and return to jar.

Sorry for being so "long" winded in my post.

AGAIN THANK YOU BOTH for my wonderful packages.
