Well, I think I'm all caught up now. Lori, you have quite a job keeping this going and hopefully you don't feel it is thankless -- we appreciate the heck out of you. I've learned any time you have a group together, even virtually, there will be different ideas on how things should be and difference levels of tolerance. I also learned, when I had to be a supervisor for awhile, to sometimes say (to myself anyway) "Duly noted and ignored," which is what I used to say to my stepsons when they were teenagers and wanted to argue with me. I give you big props for trying to keep everyone happy. We have become somewhat of a family here -- and I guess that means like other families we won't always agree, but hopefully we will still always be mindful of one another's feelings and remember mostly we are here to have fun.

    Looking forward to February's swap.

    Deby

OUCH LADIES!! I LOVE THIS board and have very few friends who i can talk to about sewing - quilting. I feel i have made some friends here alothough we will never likely meet. HOWEVER, I do understand there are other threads specicfally for general chit-chat, or tuts, etc! This one is LISITED as SECRET PAL SWAP, so I assumed it is about SP swaps. Anything to do with the sp swap..picturees, or thanks or comments preferably POSITIVE ONES. Keeping track of all it takes to oversee the sucess of this swap. no doubt takes alot of time.....PLEASE lets not push LORI'S buttons, she has worked hard to bring joy to the quilters out there. I seem to recall rules are to be followed....I hope we are all respecting the rules!!!!

I want to apologize if it seemed I was promoting my shop. I was not. As a matter of fact, some people on this list will be receiving some of my "creations" - and if they don't like them, they are free to re-gift!

But I love the hand made things..more so than the store bought things!
I thought the hand made items made this swap so unique! My SP even sent what appear to be hand made dog treats for my fur kiddos! Now that is just cool!

I do not get to post or read much so yes, all the extra banter that is not swap related can be overwhelming!
Not reading every post does not make me RUDE...if my comments came at a bad time, I am ever so sorry. Again, I post when I can, that does not mean I read the 300 posts prior to mine! It means that at that one particular moment I had a chance to post something! I travel a lot so usually only have brief moments at the computer.

I love to play in the swaps and hope that this one will continue to be the FUN one that it is!

I hate to add more fuel here, but I need to. I think we discussed re gifting is ok, but NOT the hand made items made especially for us. I would also hate to see something I MADE re gifted to someone else. But I also love seeing all the homemade gifts in the packages, and would feel bad if people stopped doing it.

I put a lot of thought and effort into the packages I send out, but I have no way of knowing if the recipient expects more unless I am told. I am also fairly new to this, and am learning more each time I participate. I hope that I am not one who was a "bad giver". I tried to comply to the rules, but how do I know if the on line thank you is truthful? I have not heard from my sp recipient yet. I hope the reason is not that she expected more, or didn't like it. How would I ever find out if I am a "bad apple"? I certainly would want to know, and either get better, or stop participating.

And Lori, I know you work hard at this, and I appreciate everything you do. Thanks for all your hard work.

here is an example of what hand made means to me...I told my DH in Nov(thanksgiving day atually) that my potholders were getting ratty....he said, so go make some...I said..I have no time!
So I played in a potholder swap and got a really pretty one...so I threw out one old one...the next SP box that came..had a very pretty Christmas potholder in..just in time for Christmas..and then..I get a SP box with not 1 but TWO new potholders...all hand made and proudly being used in my kitchen! THey do not match anything, but they are MINE..and made with love from friends!
