January secret Pal Sign Up Closes Dec 30th (noon)
#331
I FINALLY got Charles to make something for his secret pal. NOW this was no easy task as this is how he thinks...NO MEN SEW!!! Paphooey.....MEN DO SEW....and so I had to "bribe" him persay to get him to sew ANYTHING. But I do think he did enjoy it but WON'T admit it. LOL. Anyways the "bribe" I had to do was...If he doesn't make his secret pal something...by hand or machine....that he wouldn't be allowed to participate in the secret pal swap anymore. NO I DID NOT tell him that it was in the rules (its not in the rules is it? And I missed it?) but that everyone likes to get something homemade. And so he grumbled and grumbled loud. I pulled out some fabric and set it in front of him and said here pick something out and I will teach you how to make pot holders and that they are really easy to do. So after MORE grumbling...and I DONT WANT TO DO THE SWAP ANYMORE....if I have to sew. LOLOL This is what fabric he chose...So to the person that lives WAYYYYYYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYYY far East, I hope that you like his potholders. He chose the halloween fabric out of all the fabrics I showed him....but it really didn't surprise me. So I hope that you like them and will use them. And heres another hint to his secret pal....You said you were still thinking about your least favorite candy...so he tossed in some Hot tamales. LOL And your zipcode adds up to 25. Your package gets mailed out on Tuesday.
Love the Pot Holders. Hope it is me as I need some bad right now.
Have a head cold! It has beut en years since I have had one but they are as misserable as I remember.
Have my SP's name and adress so will get busy on the package I am sending out. Hint: lives in a state that I am from.
Think I am going to take some meds and go back to bed.

No, Krystna I am not cutting my quilts apart!- guess I didn't explain it well sorry. I am cutting the excess scraps that came off the finished quilts. There is always that extra after it is quilted and I am being thrifty- I am going to make a crumb quilt with all the leftovers from the quilts I have made. Is that better? LOL Sometimes my brain goes faster than my typing fingers. I found a pattern that I liked, that was quick and especially easy (for me the beginner) and I have made a quilt for my family members, Mom, sisters, brothers, children and grandchildren (this year!- oops last year) made a total of 13 quilts, 10 of which was the easy pattern called "Just can't cut it! Then 3 of them were other patterns. One was a stack-n-wack that I am especially proud of. I have made 17 in the past 2 years that I have been quilting- time really flys when you are having fun! Can't wait to retire so I am sew more. (soon-I hope)

Well, I was out gathering goodies for my SP at 7AM today. Had to bring DH to airport as he is going back to work and I figured that since I was already on the road I would get started on her goodie box. I also ordered something special for her and as soon as it gets here her box will be ready to go....
Don't know how many out there are still with colds but I am fighting the 3rd one in as many months....AAggghhhh, I am so tired of not feeling well. Since I was up since 5 today think I am gonna take a nap... See you all later.....

Sheila, I thought you were one of those extremely meticulous people who had to have every stitch perfectly placed - and you weren't happy with the end result so you were taking them apart! Eeek! What is "Just can't cut it"? Have you posted pix elsewhere on the board? Would love to see them!
As for me, I am still finishing off Christmas aprons. Thought I was done, but more fabric surfaced!
