I may try it next week when I ship my pals package. I don't have a scale...would you need a scale if you use the flat rate boxes? oh, the website indicated there will be postal rate increases effective Jan 22nd and when I clicked that prompt it took me to a spreadsheet but I didn't see flat rate mailing rates...hopefully that is a good thing!
Yea Moe, it is cool. That's exactly why I started to do it online so I wouldn't have to go to the PO. Especially since it's flat rate!

Melissa~I'm just playing with you....please don't feel pressured to get them posted until you are ready!

On the USPS topic~I have been using this for flat rate for a long time...I just kind of estimate at the weight of the package since it doesn't really matter on flat rate....I usually put 2 pounds and I've never had a problem....

My zip adds up to 19 and I think that I sent to you in December Carrot, but the "go to the post office" to pick it up part is throwing me off!!

Yep. The blocks would be in shreds if I kept up with trying to do in a larger hoop. Had to order by mail because the shops around here didn't have any. Grrrrr.

Not from fabric.com I have not bought any by the pound.
Although I DO buy (not always cotton) by the pound at a
local store not far from me called Denver Fabrics.

This is how I have managed to obtain a majority of my
"future" crazy quilt fabrics that are of various fabric content/
textures. I probably have enough fabrics of this kind to make
at least 3-5 (or more) laptop quilts LOL. Who knows WHEN I
will ever get around to doing that.

Let me know what/how you like it if you order some.
I also have you on my list to send some scraps pieces to
when I can get in the room to them. Maybe this weekend
I will try to get my daughter to help me clean up my sewing
room so that I can have a little space in which I can pull some
of the scrap bins out and get boxes ready to mail.

we have a great art festival here every september and there is a quilter i believe from CO who creates these absolutely gorgeous crazy quilts with different textures and embellishments. i think her prices are upward of $3,000.00 now for king quilts, but she has velvets, silks, rayons some of everything in them. they are gorgeous.

louise i am checking into this. i see there are some asian vendors online who do fabric remnants since this is where a majority of fabric is made these days. i will let post on this thread what i find.

    Teresa,

At Denver Fabrics there scrap bin is filled with mostly with decorator,
fashion and other type of fabrics most of the time, and they are NOT
in actual "good" cuts like 1/8 yard or anything like that. The pieces are
mostly in odd shapes they are the remnants from pattern cutting.

I will try to take a picture of the fabrics I got from my last stop there.
To give you an idea of what they have.
