winter in the midwest is snow and ice and cups of hot chocolate and hot tea with brandy (maybe) and honey from the local honey growers. my street is tree lined and when the trees are covered in snow, you may think your in a rockwell painting cityscape. winter is new gloves and boots and knit hats you keep losing and and shivers and lying under the quilts me make sitting by a fire. since i moved and had to give up my fireplace, i bought an electric one complete with heat and light effects but how can i justify using it with 60+ degree temps outside.
winter is taking my feline boys outside for romp in the snow and stepping outside during a snow "listening" to the snowflakes fall. winter is using the automatic key start that i have on my vehicle to heat it up before i get into it. winter is looking at all of the other snow covered vehicles as i pull outta my garage car snow free. winter is eating all of the foods you wouldnt normally eat so that your body can burn up the calories to keep you warm. winter is turning on your heated mattress pad or blanket to jump into a warm bed while you turn the heat down at night.
cant you see 60+ degree temperatures in the supposedly winter months is not winter at all. if the temps dont get cold enough, then the allergens in the air now are free to stay and me and my allergy suffering cat will just stay miserable, he with his running nose and sneezes and me so congested i can barely breath. i need a good midwest winter.

How is it that no one is getting their orders??? I ordered something on Jan. 3rd and I received it on Saturday, Jan. 7th. And too, I mailed out 4 boxes for swaps and such on Friday, Jan. 6th and all Delivery Confirmation shows that they are in the process of being delivered. I guess I'm lucky I live Hawaii.

Melissa, belated Happy Birthday, great you had a great day. Now did you give us any hints about your SP?? ![Big Grin](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png)
Dear pals, I just sealed your packages and printed the postage, will be dropping them at the PO on my way to work here soon. You should be getting them by Thursday.
Hints: Both of my packages are heading north: one is staying pretty close to the east coast and the other is heading towards the Midwest, to the state where I was born, as a matter of fact your city is two hours north of the city where I was born![Smile](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png)

Robyn, my prayers to your family. I know what it like to lose a child. It's been 3years for me and it's hard. It's unbelievable, it's devastating, and it seems unfair. A long time ago I kept a piece out of the paper about a child being a gift from God. He gives you a child to love, raise and teach. But there may be a time he calls His child home and you have to give the child back willing. Does it seem unfair? Yes. Do you do it willingly? No! Your family has now become that 'special' family. Not everyone loses a child, and some may not understand the grief you will feel. But let yourselves grieve. It is an honest emotion. My heart goes out to you. Peggy
