So sorry it's taken me so long to get my package out but I'm mailing it today. Life has been CRAZY busy with school this term. I didn't realize how much work I'd have to do. Hopefully I can get a handle on it and be back to my quilting soon. :)

I was having a rough morning getting stuck on the road in front of my mother's house in the city today but there was a wonderful surprise waiting when I got back home. It was a wonderful package from my secret pal zennia. She sent me a lovely handmade thread caddy with 2 spools of thread, a wonderful handmade needle case with quilting needles, some gorgeous floral fabric on black, a craft kit to do with my grandsons (Nick (6) just came home from school and wants to make them after supper - says he can't wait for the weekend as they are beautiful), and a wonderful organizer to record birthdays, anniversaries, etc with pockets for the cards to go in and pages at the back for addresses. Organization is something I am excellent at when I am working but never in my personal life so this will really help.
Thank you so much for the lovely gifts and the gorgeous butterfly note card and your sweet note.

Received my package today and it was like Christmas. I was in Sunny Florida for a week and came home to 5 packages, but the best by far was the one from my secret pal - Skeet.
She sent me 6 FQs, a wonderful Quilting Pattern Book, 2 Notepads, a 2 year planner, tons of small cookbooks, 3 bags of M&Ms and a newspaper from where she lives. I laughed because I just was on vacation near her and didn't even know it. Maybe we can get together if I ever get a chance to go back. Thanks so much Kathy for the best present - you're the greatest.

I just checked the tracking on the package I sent out to my secret pal and it says it has left Canada. The funny thing is it headed west to cross the border when the package has to go south and east but that is the PO for you. Super slow delivery and don't seem to know east from west. Hopefully it will get there soon but at least I know it is now on the right side of the border and maybe your postal service is better than ours!

Yahoo!!! I just received my parcel today!!! It couldn't have come at a better time as my husband just lost his job of 30 years and I just started my last project!!! Now I will have something else to do!!!

Thank you so much to Trisha!!!

I received a candle, binding and hem clips, craft glove, two very yummy Russell Stover Mint Cream chocolates, a pattern that you can make 2 quilts at once called "Trip for "2" to Boston", Outhouse fabric (which I love and will be doing some sort of wall hanging with and hanging it in my antique living room), Black and red fabric (my 2 favorite colors of fabric) and a beautiful homemade ... I want to call it a table topper ... I dont know the proper name but it is reversible and I just love it!!!! Enjoy the pictures below!!!

The pictures dont do any justice ... Everything is so beautiful!!!

Thank you so much Trisha for making my day!!!!

Me too. I can't wait any longer for mine to come either. I sent my squishy the first few days of Jan. with handmade items. And now, it seems forever.

    2 - strips 1 " x 2" (1 light/1 dark)
    2 - strips 1" x 2 1/2" (1 light/1 dark)
    1 - strip 1" x 3" (1 dark)
1 - strip 1" x3" (dark) folded in 1/2 lengthwise and sewn right sides together on 3" side and turned for the loop
1 - 3" square fabric for the back
    1 - 3" square batting

    sew together as follows / I used scant 1/4" seams;

center blocks 1 & 2 are 1" square white & light sewn together
    then add block 3 to bottom { strip 1" x 1 1/2"} light
    then add blodk 4 to left side {strip 1" x 1 1/2"} dark
    then add block 5 to top {strip 1" x 2" } dark
    then add block 6 to right side {strip 1' x 2"} light
    then add block 7 to bottom {strip 1" x 2 1/2"} light
    then add block 8 to left side {strip 1" x 2 1/2"} dark
    then final block 9 to top {strip 1" x 3"} dark

after you have finished the log cabin block, sandwich the folded loop in the corner on right side of fabric
add backing fabric right sides together and batting if desired stitch around edges leaving a 1 1/2" opening to turn
clip corners / turn / square corners and stitch shut the opening.
add chain to loop and you should have something similar to the picture.

I also did a 9 patch using 1" x 3" strips which was a real challenge, ended up with 1 1/2" square almost impossible to work with.....don't recommend it......maybe a 1 1/2" strip would work better.
