Kassaundra, that is absolutely beautiful! I love birds of all types so I know the peacock one will turn out great!
MizMelly, I too keep thinking of things for the next one (probably not applique, Kass ! ) But it is like when I go to the K&W for supper and there is so much to choose from - I can never make up my mind!

Hey everybody, how is summer going so far? Are there any ideas kicking around? I know what i am going to do and will be picking out autumn influenced pallet of fabrics this weekend. I just love when the idea starts to take shape and I am anxious to get started!
hope everyone is well. JNCT14, how is your foot?

Hey ube foot is better. I was trying to get a quilt done for Durham Fair but not going to happen. Every spare minute is being spent on replacing my pool deck. Old deck ripped up, new framing new boards. That and three jobs isnt leaving much time left over for quilting. And now that youth cheer has begun its BOW season. Ugh. I need 60 by August 16th. Plus our annual PoCo Fest ....ok I need to stop whining....

Hi Swap Buds, What a beautiful Sunday it has been. My first finished flimsy in, well, forever!
I titled this one "Stars in my Eyes"
I saw the video from MSQC, through 24Blocks.

Thought it would be a great way to use some of my scraps and it certainly is, even though it really didn't put a dent in the scrap bin. I stopped at 58"W x 72"L. I couldn't string piece this one with every star being a different fabric it would be very difficult to organize. If the star points were all the same it would have been very easy to string piece. I assembled it row by row and made sure every piece was in place before sewing. I love the way it turned out.
Now to turn my efforts to the wall hanging I'm planning! Hope every ones summer is being spent well.

OH WOW Ube, that is awesome!!! What a lot of work LOL I think I will have to wait until I retire before I even contemplate trying something like that!
So I've got my wall hanging almost done ... I'm just trying to find some flowers that I can use to quilt it together. I have successfully done two pieces of applique on this wall hanging, and of course, a little bit of embroidery!
Here's what I have so far

Very pretty geisha. This is really weird, My WH is also an Asian theme! What fun!

EDIT: Marion, this was not hard at all. Just three sizes of pieces, it is just that there are so many of them.
I did just a few rows at a time between other things.
