SewingSew, it is looking good. As far as the border goes, the main body has a lot orange and the fabric shows more orange accent on the right side. I think you should wait to see how the colors look next to the yellow background fabric.
A brighter yellow will work with the RS, a softer yellow will work with the WS. Love it so far.

Thank you Ube. Originally, I planned to use a brighter yellow for the background, but I found a yellow fabric that mimicked the pattern photo more, so I chose to go with that. Same with the outer border. I ordered a fabric with small red berries for the outer border, but then I saw the fabric in the photo above and thought it looked better. I like the design of the new violet fabric for one, because of the contrast that it lends to the piece as a whole. Since I couldn't purchase the original outer border fabric in the pattern photo, using the wrong side of the violet colored fabric (that I posted the photo of recently) is the closest that I have been able to come to mimicking the same colors of the pattern photo.

This is my first appliqued piece, and I think that I have found a new love.

Ube, I am clueless about how to find anyone's archived photos on here. It has been surprising to me that there doesn't seem to be a category for photo albums, especially considering how important photos are to this board. I am also clueless about how to post a link on here. But I was able to access the photo by using the search box. Type in Lynnie's newest, and you will see her quilt.

Marion and SewingSue I love your wall hangings. Sue - are you going to zigzag around all those pieces???? Yikes! Marion, those colors are gorgeous.
I am done with my WH and halfway done with an ornament for Anoka's swap. I was commissioned to make a Hunter's Star quilt and I may make two - I always wanted one. I suspect there will be much ripping as I am friggin dyslexic and some HSTs go one way, some the other.....
