Pretty fabric Brenda. You've peaked my interest and I'm not even your partner. Will wait to see what you come up with.

    BEAUTIFUL quilts!!!

Krystyna - crawfish are boiled with potatoes, onions, garlic, lemons, corn on cob, butter, lots of seasoning (sometimes mushrooms, sausage). When done, they are scooped out and dumped on a big table within everyone's reach. The head is snapped off (kind of like cleaning shrimp), the shell peeled off (in one piece if cooked right), dunked in more spice or cocktail sauce, and popped into your mouth. The claws, if big, can be pulled apart for more meat. The head is sucked out -- that's where all the good "fat" and spices are (and the bad cholesterol). I lived here 4 years before I'd even try them -- I'm fussy about seafood. Once I got started ... well, the cholesterol definitely shows up on me. You have to eat them fast because they get cold fast and then are hard to peel. Plus you have to compete with all those Cajun kids who can peel them in 2 seconds flat if you want to get any at all. Kind of like a Cajun clambake. They taste sort of like a sweet spicy boiled shrimp, nothing at all like chicken.

when we lived in Florida, several people in our neighborhood were from New Orleans and every summer there was a big crawfish boil and they would make one pot unspicy for those of us that didn't want spicy....they aren't as bad as they look haha

Yeah -- the first time a witnessed a real crawfish boil, it was pretty barbaric. Coming from Rochester, NY it was a big culture shock. Your hands get really yucky and any small cuts you have start to sting. You eat off newspaper and use a roll of paper towels. When all the empty bodies are piled high it looks like the aftermath of an apocalypse. And if they weren't "purged" ahead of time ....yuck.

    Brenda, I love that fabric!

Nancy, there's just something about sucking out the heads that got me. Ugh.

Give me a good old fashioned pile of crabs any time ... my favorite summertime dinner on the front porch with a lovely newspaper tablecloth ... even tastier when you catch them yourself!

My oh my girls! I just cannot eat any of that stuff. Can't get it past my eyes. I too grew up in the city, and am not adventurous at all. I eat a lot of stuff I wouldn't eat as a child, but still pretty fussy. I used to like smelt, until we caught and cleaned them a couple of times, can't get that image out of my head! LOL Deer, squirrels, and bunnies are what we drove up north to see in the wild. Not something you eat. I went to Europe on a Mission trip. England first, the food was good. Then Ireland, now they know how to cook a potato!! Then France. I thought I'd starve to death before we left. Grilled fish, with the head still attached!! I can't eat something that is looking back at me. LOL
Anyway, back on task. I am posting a picture of the quilt I sent to Amalia64. Last I talked to her she was moving and having trouble getting internet. It arrived at destination, so I hope it made it to her. Thanks for looking.
