Jaba, how about on some ice cream. I always loved home made jam on icecream or desserts or even on toast.

Jaba my mom used to make the best peach preserves. She gave us a few jars one year, and it had big chunks of the peaches in it, and you could just about eat it straight from the jar. lol.. It was so good, and we put it on toast in the mornings for breakfast.

I make a mean peach cobbler. lol..It is just a simple southern way, but I don't go easy with the calories. That is why I don't make it often. We are due for one though.

Recipe: I rarely share this. lol....

    1-cup flour
    1- cup of sugar
    1 - cup of milk
    I- large can of peaches
I stick of butter or margarine

Melt your margarine in a long cake pan in the oven while you are mixing your other ingredients.
Mix the flour, sugar, and milk.
Take out your pan from the oven.
Pour your dough mixture evening out in your pan over the melted butter. (If your dough mixture is thin that's fine)
Then evenly spread your peaches over the mixture.

Bake in oven at 350-375 depending on oven size you may have to adjust
Keep watch about 15minutes and check until a tooth pick inserted in middle dough comes out clean.
Take out and serve hot or warm as is or with vanilla ice cream on top.
    Yum!
Note: I use more butter than most would, but I just think it makes it the best.
Tip: You can use this same recipe with black berries or other berries.

I am getting ready to make a black berry cobbler.

Susan, if you are using canned peaches, do you drain them first?

Susan, thank you I still have some fresh ones left so will try this recipe for sure. I already high lighted and printed it off Used some of the jam tonight on bar-b-que chicken, mixed a little finely minced onion with it and it was heaven. Have an all day trip with my Dad tomorrow, have to drive him to Montana to the eye doctor. Maybe Tuesday, still have to finish the last quilt for the fair and hubbies sister and husband want to come and stay here for about 4 days...starting Thusday.....Oh Lord I hope I make it!!
