I wanted to pass on some info about mailing international packages that I got from Knitette.

Hope all is well with you and you're managing to avoid trains, lol! I'm a little concerned that some people aren't aware that international parcels can be sent via normal International post (I think it's called Priority mail).

A couple of times people have sent tracked parcels via UPS or suchlike, which must have cost them a lot of money. Perhaps they get a discount from work or such.

However I'm concerned that some new people may be spending money unnecessarily at prohibitive cost as they think they have to send a tracked package as y'all do in the US. They may not have read they don't have to do this for International.

I wonder if you could please mention something about this on the thread, especially as there's new international people and I would hate for people to be out of pocket more than they had to!

Thank you for passing this information on and I hope people would also rely on their postal worker to help them get the package there with the least expense. Also please note that it states in the swap info that you do NOT need to track international packages as I know how expensive that is!

I also wanted to let you know the wording has been changed on one of the questions asking if you would like to receive gently used magazines and templates to include any orphaned blocks you might want to add to package. Imagine the lap top quilt you could make after collected them for a few months! So if you have left over or "orphaned" blocks feel free to add them to package if your secret pal says yes to the question. I for one would like to see what we could come up with. The suggestion was made by LindaR. Thanks Linda.

Great idea for orphaned blocks, that would be cool too! I'm sure we all have them. Good idea!

Yep - have orphan blocks, all right! And would enjoy others, I'm sure. That is a great idea. Something about a new block can inspire you to make the best little projects. For instance, I have plenty of patriotic fabric, but when SheriR packaged up a little parcel of her patriotic candy, lo and behold, I just HAD to make a potholder (you can see it on the flag day candy thread). So, good thinking, LindaR!

Love the idea of orphan blocks! These "orphan" blocks will find a great home! Got a bad headache this morning. Yesterday it hit 100 degrees here and I had to work outside. We're expecting much needed rain as well since we've had some brush fires. Everyone have a great day!

I'm in again and sending info shortly. Have all kinds of orphan blocks that could be inspiration to someone else.
