Which block would be easy. I have never done this before. And I don't have the template.

Half Square Triangles (HST) are easier this way. The main thing is to take it easy and look at how they are laid out. If you have a 2.5" square template from any place it will work. You can also ask Rhonda to send you the templates.

Don't let the pictures scare you off. Once you look at how they are laid out (the 2.5" squares) they don't look as intimidating. Once you've done one or two they get easier.

PM me if you have any questions. I've only done three myself so am relatively new to this.

Just play around with making some of the blocks and see what you think. They aren't hard.

If you need help just let me know!

    If you go here:

    http://www.bitsnpiecesworkshop.com/p...QuiltAlong.php

she shows all the different blocks and which week she featured them in. She also tells which she used to make it with. For instance. week 4, Evangelina looks like flying geese but it really is HST. Well it is both actually. I made this for my partner as my second one to do and it turned out great. I'm not afraid any longer of trying them in a quilt.

Also in week 4 is Irene...a scrappy HST block.

You can do this. If *I* can do it, you can. Just sew your two colors together and lay your 2.5" template on the seam line (so it is in the diamond shape) and cut. Wa La! You have a HST.

    Hope I didn't confuse you further. :)

Hey Rhonda, I'm really not all that organized I assure you. Just actually got a whole day all to myself to do nothing but sew and arrange fabric and blocks. Now I can begin to see what I have and also have an idea of how I want to put my blocks from the Blocks of the Orient and Oriental Hourglass swaps together. And... TaaaDaaa! I now have six of the Stars in My Garden blocks done and stitched together!!! There really are stars in there, not just diamonds. LOL!
