Default June Fat Eighth Swap ~ Sign up closed

Description: This will be a monthly swap. You will sign up each month and you can choose each month whether or not to participate. You will be given a random person to swap with and that person will change each month.
*Each month there will be a different color choice or theme that we will swap.

This is a great stash building swap. Great for scrap quilters!

**Each person will swap 6 fat eighths with the color of the month OR theme choice.
**F8's can be purchased or can be from your stash but they must be 100% cotton and they must measure 9 x 22 inches (standard F8).
**They should be 6 DIFFERENT F8's.
~Please send something that you would like to receive~

For the month of June the color & theme choices are Patriotics OR something in reds, whites or blues.
Your choice! Your F8's can have anything to do with any or all of these colors.

    T
here isn't a lot to this swap,so we'll do a quick turn around.

Sign up until noon on June 11th, you'll receive person's name and address by June 14th and mail out no later than June 22nd.

** Participants are required to PM me when they have sent & received their F8's and are required to post a PM thanking the sender.
Remember, we love to see pictures here, so please try to post pictures of what you receive.

If you would like to join the fun, please PM me with your board name, full name & address, and the number of sets you would like to swap.

    Comments:

Not all WOF fabrics are 44 inches or longer. Some are as narrow as 40 inches and many are in the 42-43 inch range.
I would be more willing to play if the guideline is 9 inches long by 1/2 width of fabric (which can be as narrow as 20 inches and as wide 22.5 inches - for the majority of quilting type of fabrics)

Also - you did not state as to whether these fabrics should be washed or unwashed.
Or should the sender just label the piece as to whether it is washed or not and the recipient can deal with it???

**Most of us that swapped last month were splitting a fat quarter in half to produce 2 fat eighths from it. It worked out well.**

**As said, most were using fat quarters for the swap, so most were unwashed because if we had prewashed, we had shrinkage.
It's up to the sender if they want to wash or not. Just attach a note to the fabric.**

    Hope this answers your questions.

I was thinking of cutting up fabric that I had in my stash, which is why I was asking the questions.

Please feel free to use what's in your stash, you have to make room for new stash....right??
Even now, some of the fat quarters you buy are only meauring 18 x 21.
So, if anyone ends up with a 9 x 21 piece, don't let that stop you from joining the fun.
I don't think anyone here would call the quilt police....I know I won't
