I just wonder how you would describe your quilting style and home décor. Right now I am into primitive quilting and have learned a lot about applique both with fabric and felted wool. I am also learning more about stitchery. My home décor seems to be going the same route with an eclectic style of odds and ends mostly from the 80s primitive style. Both my hubby and I like making and creating things. He sometimes helps me make quilt blocks and we are working on a primitive patriotic quilt together. The pattern is called, Sweet Land of Liberty by Cheri Payne.

My favorite July 4th memory. Has to be July 4, 1992. I was 35 weeks pregnant and my spouse and I decided to go for a walk. We put our 13 month old son in the stroller and walked 4 miles to Taco Bell for lunch. On the way home, I was pushing the stroller and having to stop a bit for contractions. My husband kept asking, "Are you okay?" I would reply, "Good, just a few contractions." We got home, I put Josh down for a nap, my husband was watching Tv and I grabbed a book and laid on the bed. I was writing down each time I had a contraction, but was not really paying attention. My mom called to see how I was feeling. I told her I was having contractions. She asked how far a part they were. I looked at the paper, and said, "About every 2 minutes." She said, "Get to the hospital."

We went to the hospital and I was saying, "He's coming." They did not believe me because I was so little and did not look ready to deliver. I only gained 12 pounds. 10 minutes later, Jacob Steve-Parnell Stewart was born at 3:45 PM weighing in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Best 4th of July ever!

    Smile favorite July 4th memory

Wow hav4boys! It will be hard to top that one!!!

My favorite July 4th occurred just a few years ago...well, I guess it was right before COVID. We had a big family gathering at an aunt's house so the food was fabulous and I had a chance to see lots of cousins and cousin's kids that I hadn't seen in a long time. Later, many of the group decided to go somewhere to watch the town fireworks display...which always gets rave reviews. I decided I wasn't go to go. I'd stay behind and chat with others. I love to see fireworks, but I don't like loud noises so the popping and cracking usually make me flinch. (I don't like thunderstorms either...LOL) Anyways, a cousin suggested that I go but wear noise canceling headphones. He had some he used for ear protection when shooting. I decided to do it and had a ball! There were several little kids in attendance wearing ear protection and at first I felt silly....but after a bit I just enjoyed the colorful display without all the loud noise.
