WOW!!! What a response! I have a lump in my throat just reading all of this!!

Sorry I was MIA, but our power went out last night at around midnight. Was talking with Machel when it went out. Knew about the outage. It didn't come back on fully until about 3pm this afternoon. It did pop on and off a couple times, but only for a few min at a time. Then, cable didn't come back on until about 45 min ago. I was going stir crazy in the house. No power, so couldn't sew. No cable, so couldn't chat. It was rainy and drizzly, so my house was hot and sticky because I couldn't keep the sliding doors open. UGH! But, all is better now.

If you don't have my addy....I know there were a couple I was responding to last night, but power clicked off before I hit SEND and I can't remember WHO got it and who didn't. If you don't have it, let me know.

    All the blocks look wonderful.

    tslowery....GREAT JOB!!! WOOHOO!!!

I'm thinking there will be enough for bed quilts AND a lap quilt, along with pillow shams AND a couple throw pillows.

I have the batting, will wait until I see the all the colors to get the backing, but I did see some really pretty butterfly fabric at Ben Franklins. I'll take a trip down there this weekend and hunt it down again and get it. I think that will be the perfect backing for one, will see what I find for the other. Plus....I get a discount! WOOHOO! lol

Postage is being paid for, compliments of the Navy. When I told hubby about this accident and what we were doing, he said that the Ward Room (officers) on the ship will donate the money for the postage. How cool is that?

I'm thinking that if everyone can have the squares to me by the 15th, I could most likely have both quilts done and back in the mail by the first week of June. It will be a simple stitch in the ditch or a diagonal stitch for quilting or maybe tie it? What do you think? I have TONS of different color embroidery floss to tie it. I dunno.........what do you all think?

I think with your overwhelming generous gift of assembling and all you should do whatever is easiest for you. Either way will be wonderful. I will send along a few dollars for the backing too. Can you use American Dollars there? Sorry if that is a silly question.
