March 2011 Doll Quilt Swap (Red & White Theme)
#232
All these red & white quilts are beautiful.
Sorry I couldn't join this month.
I have both my Mom & oldest brother in different hospitals.
They are both extremely bad off.
Have to wait and see what next month brings. :(

When I saw the Tea Time Quilt I was reminded of a group of 12 of us ladies who got together once a month to work on our projects. This was 30 years ago and most of them are gone now...I was the baby of the group. When it was my turn to be the hostess I was concerned that I didn't have anything matching like the others did. But I did have a collection of bone china cups and saucers from England and Ireland and several matching teapots. So that's what I set out with the dessert. It turned out better than I expected! Each of them chose their favorite pattern and used that every time. This group was together nearly 10 years and I think of them often. I even talked them into a friendship block exchange. Everyone made a block for the hostess of the month with their color choice and embroidered their name in the center of the block.
Thanks hobbykatt1955 for bringing back a treasured memory with your quilt.

All of these little quilts are just so sweet. I enjoy seeing how everyone has handled the red and white color scheme with their design choices. Everyone has done a super job and I can't wait to see the one that has been sent my way.
