I sometimes use squares in color blocks, so some of the colors are hard to find enough of. Plus, I have several new babies coming this summer so I need to get busy and put together several tops. I also need to put together several for the charity that our guild supports, so I need to get my act together. My husband has recently retired and he doesn't get moving real fast any longer, so there is breakfast and coffee, dog in the lap, look at Facebook for several hours, then maybe work in the garage or not....it has been hard for me to get much done with him so "around". I know everyone adjusts, so I have hope! Plus he has worked hard all of his life and I have been on disability for quite a few years, so I know not having a set schedule is something he has looked forward to. We spent the morning going to several estate sales, and I am happy to say, we walked out without any purchases. We have enough for our kids to get rid of one day!

I also found this quilt - I think it would be pretty with our I Spy charms - not sure if I would need to cut them down to make it work or not. Will have to graph it out a bit maybe...

If we had a lot of duplicates on the last swap, then that would indicate that several swappers bought their fabric from the same sources. Duplicates from one swap to the next might indicate the same swapper using the same fabrics over and over again.

I' m in for 8. will pm you. I am ok with duplicates because baby quilts are small and I do them for charity. I just want them cute. If we don't swap, we all have way too many duplicates from one yard of fabric, and that is not cute!

You are right - we had several duplicate fabric purchases last time. Also, didn't have enough swappers to give everyone different assortments.

But, overall, duplicates have been rather minimal since I started hosting the swap. Most of us make multiple quilts with the charms, so some duplicates are not a problem. Moonrise uses her fabrics in several ways in craft shows, some have indicated that they like to make "matching game" quilts so she uses 2 of each square. Then, I have one swapper who indicated she wouldn't be participating any longer because of duplicates - so the "can't please everyone all of the time".

I am going to ask one more thing as each of you are selecting your fabrics - try to find bright colorful fabrics. The tone on tone items, while they are novelties, are not great I Spy quilt fabrics.

    Thanks!

I don't think there is anyway to always please everyone. I think it is fun and I get alot of different variety of fabrics than I would be able to otherwise. I don't mind having repeats as long as it is from the good quality material. The thinner see through stuff I really don't care for repeats of as I won't use those to begin with but it may not bother others. So if there is someone who will use those then let me know and I would be happy to send them to you ( the thinner and stiff fabrics). I will be doing 16 bags and my Mom will be doing 16.Thanks so much for doing this swap

Here is another thought. I've bought cute panels like this before:

    https://www.fabric.com/buy/0327957/m...ork-panel-grey

Now, months later, who got the spaceman, who got the rocket? If I got the alien, or all three, I would not consider it a duplicate...but there is a chance someone will get 2 rockets in two swaps. This is hard to be perfect, but I am determined to be happy no matter what the delivery or turn out.....I even got my own package back one swap, but I was happy because I sent out all cuties.
