Thank you! I love seeing them where I can pick out the prints. I will try to do the same with mine. I just opened them today and what fun. One in particiular had pumpkins and scarecrows. I have a thing for scarecrows. They were my favorite Halloween decoration as a kid.

They were a hoot to receive. Shannon

(Sorry for the larger file than usual but I wanted you to be able to see them.) Each row came from a different bag although Sewbizgirl did say they all might not belong to the person whose name is on the bag. But here goes, rows, top to bottom: Terriamn, IreneC, Libster, Moonrise, Sewbizgirl, Cheesehead, Givio and Shannon. Thank you to everyone.

Yes, I am so glad obrienwv suggested a 9-patch swap. Thank you, obrienwv!!

We are visiting my in-laws again this weekend, planning on doing more house hunting. (We will be moving up in a month and are planning on buying our first home too!) Last weekend we did the same, but I missed my sewing. This time I took a baggy of nine patches and some fabric kits to make some Sister's Choice blocks. It was so relaxing to play with your pretty blocks after the long drive!

Hope you find a good house, NZ, and that move goes smoothly.

I was looking through a book by Kim Diehl and she had a quilt with checkerboarded 9 patched as the centers of some churn dashes. Hers were in primitive, Thimbleberries-type fabrics, but you can take the idea and use any fabric or size you want. It was a cute setting. Just another idea....

Yes! Three cheers for obrienwv! :-)

A Churn Dash block works so well in various situations. Good idea! I've seen it made with a 6" star in the middle too.

Sounds like some great ideas for some new swaps! I really like the churn dash with something in the middle idea. The middle could still be scrappy 9 patch or??.
Y'all need to go over to the Spring Churn Dash thread and check out Judith's finished quilt. It is stunning!

I decided to make the points of the stars scrappy bright green, and I'm using various colored backgrounds. I'm aiming for 7 x 9 blocks and a twin size quilt. 13 sewn, 50 more to go!

They look lovely, givio!! The green makes it look so fresh and summery. I'm really looking forward to seeing how yours develops, as I am planning on the same size finished too. It's so neat how different yours looks from mine, just by using different color for the points. That's what I love about quilts, one can start with the same base, in this case scrappy 9-patches, and make a totally unique quilt. I love to see all of our finished quilts in the same room together at the end!

The scrappy bright green points look great, Giv. Perfect with all the bright colors we had in these blocks.

I'm doing a little more sewing this afternoon. When clipping between units after a little chain piecing, I didn't notice this. But when I went to iron it, I did. Whoops!

I usually find I've done that with binding strips! Quick fix, tho.
