Eleanor Burns sells a pattern for this, but I just made it from a picture. All the blocks are 6.5" unsewn: The 9Ps, the HSTs, and the tri-recs.

Not losing points has a lot to do with your seam allowances. If you sew too narrow a seam, the point will come out to close to the edge and you'll lose it when you sew your blocks together. If it's 1/4" from the edge, you won't lose it.
Thank you I knew the hst's I was concerned about the other ones those are the ones I keep cutting the wrong size and and losing the side points when I try to put them together. I thought I had the tri rec's but mine are angle play.

    anyway thanks for the information.

The center triangle is a 60 degree triangle, if you have a 60 degree ruler... Also you may be able to find a template online.

These blocks are far too addicting. I'm loving everyone's color combinations they used, and then matching them up with neutrals. You all did a great job with exactly 6.5" blocks, too, because these are coming together without even fudging at all!

Those look awesome, NZ! Are you going to join them just like that, or sashed? I love all the neutral backgrounds.

That looks absolutely beautiful - it's so much fun for us to look for the same blocks we have or for the ones we made. Keep us updated on your progress. Super job!

NZ and all, my blocks are coming out perfectly too! I don't have any problem at all with center squares being the wrong size. And after I sew the star, I don't even need to trim it, they are all coming out beautifully the same! I've sewn some of the blocks together and the points are looking great.

Maybe you'd like to post on the new 9Patch thread? Then any newcomers can get an idea of a setting idea for their blocks (if they are not reading the old thread).

Really love it, NZ... love the variety of neutrals playing their own game quietly in the background. Very beautiful!

Thanks, ladies! Your blocks are the stars! (Pun intended)

I'm thinking I'll omit sashing in this quilt. I'm liking how it has a bit of a vintage, scrappy look, and I don't want to break it.
