good morning ladies! first thing I hope your all having a good day and that weather is holding in a lovely pattern. it is here! yahoo! ok it has been a tad colder than a couple days ago but still it is nice.

I want to broach a subject here that was mentioned to me in a very unfriendly email. I do not SOLICITE gifts from you or from anyone. If I want something I will ask for it trust me. If I need something I will say so. I do not wish for you to send me things. I am not begging for things nor am I whining I hope it is not taken that way. If so please forgive me. I often say OH I WANT THAT ONE! because its so pretty. Not because I am hoping you will make a double and send it to me. I was offended at the suggestion and hope that in the future no one send me things this way its clear I am here for the fun and companionship not for what I can get out of this. I can hardly say more. I am playing for the fun of this and only the fun. I hope this is clear.

    Linda,
I am sorry that you are having to deal with this.
I for one only sent you things because my heart told me too. I try to listen to what my heart tells me, I feel it is not only my heart but God telling me this. Just as I felt the need to send to Lynnie. Neither of you asked or expected anything, it was suppose to be a surprise from the heart! So I hope you can overlook that unfriendly message you received.
Take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you!

I posted my thoughts on the FQ swap thread. Linda, I just want you to know that I feel the hurt you have and wish I could do something, anything, to take it away. I hope the love and support you get from the rest of us makes up a tiny bit for the snarkiness of this one rotten egg.

Me thinks somebody is projecting her own nefarious motivations onto you. Let it go. Her accusations do not merit another thought.

Thats ridiculous. People send things to others because they want to and it makes them happy to do so. Some people just have a negative perspective on everything. Don't let it bring you down!

Oh my gosh, how STUPID. I think we can all decide for ourselves who we want to 'gift' and what comments are made as praise and support here (i.e.: "I want that!"). Put this small-minded person out of your thoughts, Linda, and just carry on! It sounds like someone who needs to 'get a life'.

    Brat, so sorry, (((((HUGS)))))
I've been gifted and thought it strange at first. then said. hey, you just gifted other people with nice things. I loved doing it. why take the joy from some one else, let them gift me and we both have a great time of it. Brush it off. maybe they are just jealous. I love gifting people, it's in our quilting nature, and now also love receiving things too.
So I say, if you choose to gift someone, do it. It made my day when I was just gifted this week. such a day brightener really.

Kiffie, I made a bunch of pairs for myself 2 yrs ago. mine are all worn down now, I weat them to the pool so the sun bleaches them something awful, being out in the sun for 11 to 5.
THey are tricky to make, not hard, just tricky. I made one to match all 3 of my bathing suits. and out of the wedge flip flops, I did them too. they kinda look dressy, all black and white. a PITA to do , but worth it. thanks.

I'm thinking about this, what a horrible thing to take the joy
away from the giver and receiver. So much joy from a fat quarter. It
brightenes the day of the giver and the receiver. How dare you take that away.
I sit nervously as my swap pkg travels to it new home, I'm wondering the whole
time, will she like it. she gets it and loves it. it makes her day.

I join swaps to give. I mail early as most of you know. I usually get mine at the end of the swap.
I totally forget that i'm supposed to get things back. Really, I do. what a surprise when I get something.
So let the giver enjoy too, and the receiver too. it's a win/win situation.

I am shocked by the nastiness that pops up every so often. I'm fairly new to swapping on this site (only since September 2014), but already I've seen enough snarkiness to last for many, many years. I, too, love to send something unexpected to someone just for the fun of it but, now, am I supposed to feel guilty? What's happening to the joy of giving (& receiving)? Why would anyone even send such an e-mail? Didn't your mama teach you that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all???
