The theme is 2 color quilts ...having just done this in April in the DQ swap, I used the same palette I used for Almonds quilt and also used the same folded flowers I used in Almonds quilt. I was thinking of trying a scalloped edge, since I had never done one before and then I saw Moonrise's binding treatment on her crazy quilt!!!! I had to try it, since it mirrored the cathedral windows! I hand sewed the folds to match the windows and I love how it came out! I am think about adding some embroidery embellishment in the binding - seeing all of the incredible embroidery this month I want to try more!!!!

I hope people don't mind me sharing a non-swap quilt, but I am really excited by how much this group is influencing and inspiring my quilts!

I embroidered little beaks, eyes and feet on the birds
Nina, It is really a nice quilt, I love it almost as much as the one you did for me. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! I really enjoyed this one and am a little sad to be finish, LOL.

Almond, thank you so much! You are so sweet!

...speaking of the gallery, I just uploaded all of the quilts from this thread (I hope I got all of the quilters correct!) I didn't think to add this one, but I suppose I could

Thanks everyone for the inspiration! I am excited to go to guild on Monday!

NinaLemon, Thanks a bunch! That was a lot of work, but we'll have fun looking at them all.

I received my DQ from gramabiese on Tuesday, I will post pictures tonight or tomorrow night, as soon as I dig out the camera.

My quilt to her is a little late because I am working without opposable thumbs at the moment - have a huge bruise on my left thumb, not sure how I did it, probably when digging holes for my tomato plants - and jammed my right thumb when reaching to shift gears on my car (I love driving my stick shift but sometimes it can be a pain...) also bent the nail back and ripped it down in the nail bed - not completely ripped off, have super-glued it to keep it on until it grows out past the bleeding stage - you don't realize how many times you use your thumbs until both of them are out of commission at the same time - hurts even to push the elevator button I'm hoping at least one of them will be functional enough that I can finish the edging on her dq tonight, or tomorrow at the latest - I am an ambidextrous lefty, but that doesn't work for me right now I keep on forgetting and hitting the space bar with my thumb and it's beginning to throb - ouchy!
