I start with a half yard, and add a top or a bottom of 4", this time a bottom. and I square it off on the bottom of 2" per side. if that helps anyone.

The 1st one, teal, is 15x15 but has a 6" bottom width, 2nd one is to small....going to keep it as a purse. I put pockets on the outside and on the inside and either velcro or a magnetic closure. Started another one today and have no idea what size it will end up, but it has the long straps and it's purple with the colorful print The outside and the lining are backed with batting so they are pretty strong I think. Hope I didn't get carried away and make it huge or I'll have to do another. I know they will get used though, that's the positive!!

I'm planning to use some fusible fleece in mine. I think it will be sturdier that way. Got my fabric washed and dried today. I'm planning to sew tomorrow. I think I'll put a pocket on the outside of mine along with the long straps.

Libster, I used fusible also. Have the front and lining all pinned together and just got tired today, plus dinner was calling to be cooked. Tomorrow is another day and then I'll find out the size for sure. My fingers are crossed!!

Oh ladies, you are killing me with all these beautiful bags. Loving the colours and the fabrics that you are using. Just a quick question as this is my first swap of a bag on this site, do you want a bag that is an everday bag (used for going to work), a shopping bag (to carry a few groceries) or would you like a bag for your crafting (knitting bag, sewing bag, crochet etc)
Thanks
LindaC
