Mailman just picked my quilt block for Jan swap for bibliostone. I always seem to have trouble with the block measuring 12 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches. When they say sew a scant 1/4 in. does that mean go to a 1/8 in seam? So much to learn yet.

I am glad my partner for January likes her block. The only thing I did not like was that I only had a small piece of bright yellow, but do think it will go well with her other blocks. The weather was such that I couldn't just run out to pic up some more yellow which I would have like to have done. Here is another picture to add with my partners just to add perspective.

I mailed cjr's blocks yesterday and she will receive them (we swapped two) this Sat. I have the pattern picked out for this month's block. Just have to get to it!

Hello everyone, hope all is good with you. We are one cold state here in N.E. Nebraska. This morning it was 13 below, ooh it was terrible. I let the dogs out and they did not take long to get their jobs done. I finally picked colors out for Dorothy's quilt block and I love them. This is the first time I've done this pattern. I hope with this block I get it cut out right the first time. If I lived closer the Sioux City I'd take some quilting lessons. Well I'm going to get my fabric ready to cut. I received this beautiful quilt block today from lv2sew2011 (Donna). I didn't get to the post office until today on our way for an appointment. Thank you Donna, it will look so nice with my other blocks.

I haven't received my blocks from car yet but she told me I could show photos of the two I sent her.
This is the house block she asked for.
