ok those baskets you say white on white then you show baskets with a white background but colored basket which are you hoping for???

retired fire chief love those civil war fabrics too.. its a one day quilt for me maybe when I finish this Christmas quilt probably have enough blocks come Jan.. I love scrappy blocks but I am totally not into writing on them. Its something that I just don't do. go figure.. we all do something different and surely will sign one if I get your blocks. I had someone sign something of mine and did not use the quilting perma pen.. it sucked. it ran onto the rest of the block not fun at all.

This looks like a fun theme. I'm sure you'll receive some fun blocks. I hope to meet your acquaintance.

I would like to have a "basket" assortment of blocks. I would love to have a white on white background for the blocks if possible. Each month's block "could" go with what most people think that "month" represents.

Here's a link to a sample quilt to show how cool the assortment could end up.

I think she means a neutral white on white background. I think the baskets could have color to them.

Robert, please feel better. I am sending good vibes in your direction. He is truly a talented man. I have been the recipient of a couple of his embroidery blocks. And they are Roberto Fabuloso!!!

Gosh, I hope I didn't scare anyone with these baskets... I wouldn't expect "these" baskets, I just wanted to show a sample of how a variety of baskets made such a cool top. I'd be terrified if someone asked me to do such detailed applique.

I like all basket blocks and yes you are correct about a neutral background with what ever color basket you'd want. Of course I realize we'd discuss our desires each month with our partners too.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their condolences on the passing of my father. I am so touched by all the PM's and offers for help and it truly has made this entire grieving process a little bit easier.

Right now, I have chosen a pattern for his quilt.... it's Dancing Nine Patch, on Bonnie Hunter's website: http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2013/...tern-time.html

I am taking care of some final arrangements and getting my mother settled and then I will be in contact with those who offered to help me with this endeavor.

Thanks again, and God Bless you all! Hold your loved ones real tight and treasure them while you can.

Robert I hope you get well very soon, and you are in my prayers. I also think I will go with the scrappy block theme with makers choice too, because they are so pretty.

It's a rainy, breezy day here with fall leaves blowing everywhere.

Hello ALL - The list of partners will be posted by tomorrow morning. Glad to have ya'all in the swap - happy sewing. Welcome to the new swappers that have joined recently.

This is a continuation of the previous Monthly Quilting Bee Block Swap. If you have already signed up in the previous version, you are still signed up for the new one. All rules remain the same -

Each month, you will make one block for an assigned partner who will make you one in return.

    ****

    1. You will receive the name of your partner, it is up to you to PM them and you will exchange your theme and colors, and addresses. As stated before, communication is of the utmost importance.

    2. You will have ONE month to make one block for that person and send it to them. The blocks must be 100% prewashed cotton, 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" unfinished (12" when finally sewn into a quilt). You can make them in any fashion - pieced, appliqued, paper-pieced, embroidered, other methods - as long as you follow your swap partner's specifications to the best of your ability so their project can be unified.

    3. At the end of the month all the names will be reassigned. Please send a PM to the hostess prior to the end of the month if you wish to have your name taken off the list.

    4. Participants may change their theme if they wish by sending a PM to the hostess.

    5. New members may join at any time but may have to wait until the next reassignment of names to receive a partner. ((However, many participants are willing to do extra swaps - so it may be possible to find an interim partner for you)).

PLEASE NOTE: We have several international swap participants, so occasionally your partner may be in another country (which means it will cost slightly more for you to send their block).

    Sew Hugs
    Jean

I think a little direction would make the blocks look good together, such as "love reds", "no batiks", "prefer traditional."
