Hey, Lynnie, I never heard of a push present or a babymoon! I must be out of touch. From the sounds of it, though, I'm okay with that!

CT, nevr heard of it either, but apparently, it's all the rage with the new people. ya know the new ones getting married and having babies. From what I've heard, they get diamond rings and such. I thought our present was the baby, apparently, that's not good enough anymore. And then you get to go on a babymoon, similar to a honeymoon.
It's your last chance child free. What's next???

Glad you like them Louise, I had fun making them. Hope you receive a little of the "luck of the Irish" that I tried to send with them.

It like the girls now get a push present to have a baby, and from what I've heard, they are rather expensive gifts. and then there is the Babymoon they go on before the baby comes. those are like second honeymoons with all the trimming. A woman my dh works with is doing all of this. Look what we missed out on.
Wow... this is really the ME generation! How about putting that money into a college fund for the kid, rather than blowing it on a second honeymoon? Do they really think their lives will be OVER when they are parents? I am just amazed by what people do... Feel like I need to live off in a cave somewhere, LOL. I just can not relate!

Wonderfull mug rugs!!! I have been married 41 years same high school sweetheart. My wedding was beautiful, used my girlfriends gown Victorian lace just beautiful. My mom made her dress and all my bridesmaide gowns! We had blue silk. 125 quests Got married in my church. The pastor took pictures free of charge and my boss at the time had all my pictures printed as my wedding gift. very cheap but beautiful. You can have a great wedding without spending 18 thousand dollars, like my youngest son did. Their wedding was beautiful but not worth the money. They could have a down payment on a house for that price.

Beautiful mug rugs from Vitality and KLTQuilts!
I've been the lucky recipient of a Vita mug rug and a zipper bag. If I didn't know better, I'd think she had been quilting for years...I think some people just have innate talent, and I know she's one who does as far as quilting design and fmq.
Brat, my dress was $375 on clearance in 1982...yes quite a large sum back in the stone age... I put it on layaway, and I still remember going in and paying that last $50...
I have my ring bearers pillow that was hand embroidered by my best friend's mom. I've taken the stuffing from it, and am going to use it along with my veil and wedding gown to make a memory quilt.
My mom about had a coronary when I told her I'm cutting up my dress. But after I explained to her I have no one who'll ever wear it, why should it just hang in the bag in the closet...yellowing and such when I can make something I'll love from it??!! she got on board with the idea. Plus I paid for half of it myself...lol
Anyone with any pics or ideas on making a quilt from a wedding gown, please post them!
I've done the old Google search, and found very few ideas.. I've made crazy quilts, and done all hand embroidery and embellishments..And I'm thinking I'll do something along that line. I also plan to print some of our wedding pics on to fabric, and incorporate them.
    Kif
PS Lynnie, as a survivor of abuse myself (taken years of therapy for me to write that and not feel shame) I can absolutely relate to you not wanting him around you on your special day. And there's no way, nor no reason you should've had to overlook it.
