Ok, so a dumb question here,I've never made a mug rug before, but I thought they were just big coasters, lol, I see all the ones sent have pockets, is this the standard? I may have to reconsider and add pockets, they are cute!

I made one with a pocket, and one without. I really don't think it matters - bigger than a coaster smaller than a place mat. That's how I think of them.

When I originally started seeing them they didn't have pockets..some have one pocket for a spoon some have three-spoon/stirrer, tea bag, sugar packet...I think it's whatever you want to do and big enough to accomdate a mug or cup and a treat, so definately bigger than a coaster :)

I looked them up online they had it either way I liked the pocket idea and I wanted to add the stirrer so I added a pocket

@ letsquilt - It's just a style - with or with out, it's still a mug rug. So hurry and send me my no pocket mug rug. My hot cocoa is hot hot hot. ouch, my table might scorch.

They are special no matter pocket or not. It's a little piece of the giver that makes it special.
