In the meantime, thought I'd share my guest bedroom since my iron bed was delivered on Friday. The applique quilt, pillows, and crate foot stool was made while living in my RV specifically for this room. If you are interested, the little dress hanging in background is my baptism dress of 58 years ago, the trunk at foot of bed was my great great grandfathers when he immigrated from Germany in 1876, and the oil lamp is my hubbies Great grandmothers. Everything in this room is heirloom...designed specifically for my mother and MIL in mind. I still need a quilt ladder and some florals for the vase, fill up the corner shelves a bit with old family pictures but pretty much done. The upright dresser and a pot belly stove are on other side of room. I really love this room...
My mom was an antique collector for many years and then was an antique dealer with her own shop. We live in that shop now LOL We've spent a lot of time in antique shops and I love the look you got in your room. We had an iron bed yrs ago but it went with another family member. Very nicely done decorating!!

Thank you, ladies! I had been waiting for this custom bed for 2 mos. so I was so happy to finally receive it. I'm obviously super sentimental so I Love that my home is filled with generations of handmade things and heirlooms. The walls in this room showcase needlework from 3 generations. One piece still to hang when the quilt ladder in place, a cross rich my mother made. A quilt made my great auntie that is over 85 years old using authentic 30's fabrics will be displayed on ladder. Anywhooo....you'all have asked about my new home so I thought I'd share. If interested, I'll share more. You definitely need to see my barn quilts hung so I'll take pics and share later this week.

My package is on its way to parts unknown....watch your boxes this week!! I really hope it will be liked. I was worried about the "girlie" Victorian look and hope it can fit someone's decor. I'll try to stay in a more universal look next Swap...

When I was a teen I was drawn to the old post cards. I had a pretty large collection back then. I love old things. My living room is done in primitives and my kitchen is painted 1950s red and I collect white granite wear and other 50s and older type utensils and such. I don't have typical wall to wall cabinets. I have a poor man's version of a Hoosier cabinet with the pull out metal pastry counter and I have a cabinet they call a Chimney cabinet because it stood beside the chimney and sat in that corner. My mom told me it was a jelly cabinet when she gave it to me y ears ago so I still think of it as a jelly cabinet. but it is really a chimney cabinet. I also love all primitive cabinets and hate to tell you how many I have LOL I'm a collector just like my mom and always running out of room LOL I'll show you pictures of my kitchen and my living room later on when the swap gets slow and could use some action.

Oh my! What a beautiful wall hanging I received from Skaduzy! How do you describe the perfection that holds all these perfectly matched components together? Skaduzy, you are a genius! Beautiful! Thank you so much for the wall hanging and all the goodies!
