Welcome Steph - I have you signed up, just need to know what you want to do -- one spot or two and what you want to make. If two spots, you have a choice of doing a pc and a nc; or 2 pc; or 2 nc.

I think we have lurkers. a lot of people are out tonight, I was, date night, saw bad grandpa, laughed so hard, almost wet myself, but did end up choking a few times. by tomorrow, hopefully we'll have more people signed up. I wish I could get a photo of my oven roasters, tried and tried. if you want to see kinda what they look like, bing or google felt stuffed turkeys. a pic will come up. gotta start working on next months, have January's in my head, just gotta get the fabric for it. I need to get working on December's tomorrow. Any suggestions??? santa teddies maybe. or Christmas stockings, Christmas tress or lumps of coal. Christmas cookies, candy, candycanes, reindeer heads, or Christmas lights, a wreath a package or a toy rocking horse. the list is endless. everyone, tell your friends to join up. any suggestions on what I should make. don't forget snowflakes too, wait, that will do January better. you're gonna want my January one, that's for sure. hint...winter wonderland.

I am making pincushions as Christmas gifts and I saw a really cute pincushion pattern on a website and they used a Styrofoam ball as the insert. Has anyone used this method? Was wondering if it would dull the needles and pins or not.

Yes, Judy, the styrofoam will dull the needles and pins. Could you substitue making a stuffed ball instead? Best thing to stuff with would be ground walnut shells, but lots of the gals use poly fiberfill.

Are you going to be joinging up in the swap? We's love to have you.

Styrofoam balls give way after awhile and start to dissinagrate, kind of, crumble. they are nice to look at, but I would put it on my shelf of pincushions, not use it.
steph, will you give us a hint???? you're lucky your husband helps with that. my dh says he has no idea.

I usually use sand but saw this on a post and was wondering about the same issue that you mentioned. Thanks for confirming my thought.

just came home from joanns. got my fabric for december and january. december will be made from red velvet with golden glitter snowflakes. January's will be white, and beaded. i've been working on it for over an hour and am almost half done with it. that's my winter wonderland themed one. february is one of two ideas, not sure yet. march, i've a great idea if i can get my parts to do it. i have a bit of time to find things. but...if i don't find it now, i may never. i like to get ahead so i can mail the day i get my partner. you will all have to take photos for me, no camera. unless i can get to the city to see Dotty,(dotcomdtcm). to post for me. she's great at that. i'm still working on april. whooo i just got an idea for april. gotta get into braiding for that.
stop lurking and sign up. you may win one of my monstrosities.
