    K, I like what I see!

Making FKs takes a bit of practice. One ? How do you knot thread? If you use the needle and wrap the thread around it a few times and pull the needle through the wrapped thread, you are making a knot similar to the FK. You just have to put the needle into the fabric before you pull it through the wrapped thread. Now you are totally confused, right!? here is a very helpful demo.

I watched the videos on FK and I swear that is what I do, but the knot pulls completely out and I end up w/a small single "dash" type stitch?????

Long ago and far away LOL I taught stitchery. One of hte things I learned is when you are ready to put your needle back down through the fabric hold onto your knot and when you have your needle under the fabric come up again and go through the center of the knot the best you can and come down again into your fabric. it stabilizes the knot and won't let it pull back through. if you need pictures I can do that.

It's still ridiculously cold so I'm sewing again today. Been working on the wh, I am so glad I made it in colors that would not work in my house b/c I am liking it sooooo much. I already picked out a fabric to replace the magenta for my house, I usually hate making the same thing twice, but for this I am making an exception. Anyway, the pattern is so modern I didn't want to use a binding for it, I wanted it to be clean lined so I did an pillow case type edge finishing. I am not the best quilter, so I am keeping that clean lined too and stitching around the pattern. It is having the side benefit of being very close to reversible. You will see from the pics there is no hanging mechanism b/c I have an idea for that, that will be part of the design, but that will be the last step so no spoilers for now Sweeties. lol (did anyone get that???)
