I found my pattern and hope to get a start on it in a couple of weeks. I love these swaps, they offer an opportunity to hone new skills on smaller projects. I plan to give hand applique a shot this time around.

Hey Krisb, That is a fast finish. Very nice use of some shared panel material. Like a quilt with a view. Isn't nice not to wait till the last minute. No worries about finishing on time.

May a good Thanksgiving bless everyone.

I have two patterns I am thinking about. If I have the time I will make them both; however, the question is which one to start with first.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

I started to fit hexies together and need to make an adjustment somewhere. I want to connect the hexies with diamonds (I think). When I put the pieces together, a full hexagon gives to much separation between fussy hexies.
So the diamond works better to unify the look. Getting the size right is a challenge.

The diamonds seem to be a bit big. The edge of the hexie is 1" so I would think the diamond would follow siute (ha ha) so to speak. When I sew them together, There is a bit too much center for the six surrounding hexies.

I'll have to keep experimenting to get the perfect size template.

I just finished the following mini. Not sure if I am going to use it as a wall hanging for this swap or not but figured I would share.

Very nice Anoka. What size are the kites? It reminds me of when I walk in my woods and take time to lay down and look up through the trees. One of my favorite views.

I don't think Rhonda minds that we post any of our work here to share. I like to see what the swap people are doing. I have done it and she seems all right with it.

The whole point of not knowing who gets what wall hanging was so we could post as many pics as you want of progress and of the finished wall hanging. Since noone knows who gets what no surprises are spoiled.

so I thoroughly encourage you to post LOTS of Pics!!

Haven't started my wall hanging yet because of working on Christmas stuff. Was thinking of something with hexies, but saw a program on The Quilt Show and now I might be doing an applique project. Who knows, something else might catch my eye between now and whenever I get started, but I do believe it will be an appliqued project. Hope everyone has a great holiday.
