Thanks for the compliments on the purses, mine are a combination of two patterns, the Hamilton and the Bow Tucks...
My friend in Maine said at 8 last night they had 6 inches of snow, they weren't expecting that much...

We went to Red lobster for dinner last night. Shrimp were really yummy and cooked just right. Nice piece of cheesecake for dessert.. Found out our daughter is coming Wednesday till Monday.. Rob is leaving on Thursday.. Happy happy, nothing like having them all at once and then nothing the rest of the year...Oh well guess we have to take it when we can get it...

I just love going to yard sales and estate sales and finding STUFF. I don't sell anything. I think I'm a hoarder. And I usually buy things because someday I might need it. When that time comes I can't find it. So off to buy more. I do make things but give them away. Now I'm onto sheet music ornaments.
I do use wool felt and I have a LQS that sells it but I mainly use 100% wool and felt it myself. I buy coats, skirts, blazers and even men's suit coats at the thrift stores. I've gotten long coats for $2 and you can't find a small piece of wool for that. It does take some time cutting the garments apart but it sure is worth it.
I've spent 60 years in New England weather and I'm glad I'm in Ohio. I get about 66 inches of snow but last year Cleveland got 88 but I'm not in that snow belt so I get less.
Dwina I hope your storm is winding down
    Everyone have a great day

Pat, I have you beat! I went to the Hospice Thrift Store and ended up with a red, 100% wool woman's blazer for 79 cents. It even fits me but I can't wear it here in Florida so I will probably felt it.

The storm is over, but it's still awful cold. Everyones boats made it thru ok. The tenders tied up at the marina were a mess but no damage. The seagulls are on my front deck, very hungry after the storm. It is illegal to feed the gulls, so I feed the crows. I can't help it if the gulls eat some of the crow's food. It's no different than deer eating out of your bird feeder. Thank you for being concerned about our welfare during the Noreaster.

Don't you just love the bargains you can get. There aren't too many orange colored wools. I did get a coat and a blazer but need more. The one that I like the best is Volunteers of America and it's on Pearl Rd. in Brunswick, right down the street from Medina. Dwina I heard some parts of Me got 21 inches. That is so bad. I'm glad that everyone is safe and the boats too.

Pat I love the sheet music ornaments. Makes one think of all the Christmas Caroling. I may look around the house, and see if I can find any. I would love to be with you Pat looking at all the sales. My husband loves looking too. We didn't go to that big 127 sale this year, because as you once said, it is too darn hot then. I wish they would change the date of it where it wouldn't be so hot. Pat my house looks like a hoarders right now, due to our health and so slow to get organizing done. One day! Actually, if I could have anything for Christmas for the next 5 years or always, it would be to have my whole house back like it was before we got so sick.

Dwina I am glad all of you are safe, and though it's still so cold that nothing was damaged either. Put lots of warm clothes on, and sip on something hot and yummy. (say hello to your daughter for me)

Karen that was a real deal you found. I am going to have to learn to felt. I have one small little felting kit my husband bought me a year ago, because I kept saying I wanted to learn how given this swap. It is just a basic tiny bag with a needle thing, piece of wool (little ball piece), and a foam or something thing to press into. I haven't looked at it in a while. lol... The first time I tried it, and probably did it wrong, I pushed that needle thing into my finger, and that was the last time I looked at it. lol.....

I may get it back out today and try again.

If you girls have any tips at all let me know.

Rosemary what part of Maine is your friend from? I like knitting different types of dishcloths, but I have one on my needles that I hate knitting. It's about a third done. Guess i'll work on that this evening. I need my needles! My pincushion I hope will be done this week end. DD wants to go to a quilt retreat, her father said that if they were able to haul enough traps, we could go. This time of year is when off shore fishermen make the most money, but have to work around bad weather. We can never plan anything. We usually have to go places when they aren't able to work. The only time we go anywhere in nice weather is usually on a Sunday. We have no vacations. DH hates traveling, he's a homebody.

I tried to make a pin with the accordian folded sheet music but when I went to glue it I tore some of it. Then I got the bright idea to make it out of scrapbook paper and it didn't tear so I made a fall pin out of it. I finally found out how to make cones so I'll be using the sheet music for that and make some Christmas pins (but carefully). I have a friend here that has lots of sheet music as she plays the piano so I got some from her and then actually got some at an estate sale. They also had them at the book sale but I didn't get any. That 127 yard sale goes through all of Ohio but it's almost into Indiana. Too long for me. When I say felting wool all you do is put it in the washing machine with a little soap and HOT water and just wash it. Then I dry it in the dryer. You are talking about needle felting and I don't do that. You need wool roving to do that. I'm fairly healthy (knock on wood) and my house is a mess

I never have done a search but I bet you could search for sheet music and prints off your own paper. I only went to one yard sale this year. Don't know what's wrong with me.
