Look in your travels tomorrow. Is there a tile or brick design, a funny bird or animal, colors that inspire, tastes, smells, visuals that move you? Spend a day observing and getting inspired. You'll be surprised what lands in your brain.

If all else fails, go buy a fat quarter you love and launch from that. Above all, have fun!

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. And, got to repeat myself because I just accidentally posted in september swap!!!

Just want to say i'm super excited about this swap and am greatful for a pm from my swap partner, Gramabiese. After her pm, I realized that the original dq I started, when I decided to do this swap, was more suited to my taste... After Gramabiese filled me in on some of her likes, I redirected my focus to a pattern I was wanting to try, but not sure for whom or when...it is, I feel, a perfect fit for her based on info she provided...so, THANK YOU! Gramabiese!!! I need to bind it and hope to accomplish this daunting task this next weekend!!!

I've been stitching all day.....sore fingers.....but making headway on what I hope will be a pretty quilt for my partner
