October Mini Quilt Swap
#32
I pulled fabric does that count?? wanting to know if my partner wants Halloween or fall so I will wait to sew I think. I am just finishing sign ups for the Oct. fat quarter swap if anyone is interested great fabrics to use for your holiday wall hanging swap.... just saying I have lots of pumpkin fabrics that would make a great little hanging but also some muted purples and oranges and greens that would make a nice .. darker fall quilt.. and leaves. I seem to have leaves everywhere! can't wait for my partner to find out what I should be making!

Wonderful Sneak peeks!
Yep Brat, I'm waiting too...until I know if it's scary...or not... I lean towards nostalgic. Love the Autumn and Halloween of my youth..much simpler times back then.
BUT, there was no QB, so I can't reminisce too much!

I have an appointment tomorrow so I am planning to swing by a fabric shop in that area to browse around for what I need.
On the info I filled out for tlambing I put like pumpkins, scarecrows (like in the gardens) etc. along that line, but really anything is fine that is not scarey type. More like what Kiffie said, that are memories of our youth. I remember kids having fun looking forward to dressing up for fun and getting candy after seeing trick or treat. But it's so different today. Memories are nice. Anything is fine that is not scarey. I already said that didn't I? So many ideas one can come up with. Pumpkins, treat bags with candy, something I hadn't thought of at first is even the mums that are everywhere now too. Last year this time, I bought us several pots of mums to put in a display in the front yard, and a couple of pumpkins. They looked so pretty.
Have a great day everyone!

I have the Moda Halloween Night line of fabric; have the charm set and yardage on the tan Halloween scene from the line. bought them 4 years ago. I still haven't used them. Because I want to make sure whatever I make is "just right". They just remind me so much of my childhood trick or treating.
Though, I'm happy to make scary, too. I like all things Halloween and Autumn!
Here's a pic of My Moda Halloween Night fabrics, any suggestions on what I can make with them?? :

Spooktacular Greetings - I love Halloween; we have great fun and make it a family and friend night to share; we're just starting to plan our food menu for the night; my daughter has volunteered to fill our 100th trick or treater bucket this year; need to start getting treat bags put together for the trinkets. You're all welcome to come by for a cup of hot cider - plain or dirty; a cup of coffee; a sip of something more to keep you warm as it gets quite chilly some nights. It's a great night for an outdoor get together.
Lucky me I got signed up in the nick of time.

dabbler I will be right over! do I have to wait til Halloween??? I have such good memories of Halloween also. who took parents with you growing up? you went with your friends. all around the entire block. house to house to house.. I used to come home with a half a pillow case full of candy. If you think of it now you will get thinking about it. Then the next day you laid it all out on floor. and sorted it. and there was a lot to sort. Now? six houses maybe on a good week in a block. wow. what is with that? doesn't everyone remember growing up? how could you not do the same for kids today? don't they count too??? ok its the little kid side me that is begging you to reconsider. one pumpkin, a porch light and trust me they will come. Its been over 5 yrs now since I have had trick or treaters. I moved recently to town and am hoping for at least a few this year. crossing fingers... oh yeah steve will be happy if none come.. a bowl of candy for HIM!

I have just the right suggestion Kif.
Something pieced and quilted and addressed to me! I love Halloween. NO Gore, traditional spooky kiddish Halloween. Everything about it makes me happy.
