I use muslin for the backs of my card. I really like keeping the fabric theme. (But, to each his own. There is no WRONG way.) I also, use Peltex in the middle of my postcard to make it stiffer. I have tried using cardboard cut to size and fusible batting as the middle layer. And I still like Peltex best.
Betty J's idea of stiff felt is a very attractive idea. I just might explore this idea. Of course, I will need to do the Math as well. As the stiffer felt can only be bought in a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet that I know of. Still, that felt is really stiff. hmm, I just might need to give it a try on a demo card. I still would only use that as my center and muslin would be the backing.
