Some people only go to town once a week to check their mail, grocery shop, etc. My MIL is like that although she has rural mail delivery. I know most of us think that the mail man comes every day and the grocery store is around the corner but that isn't always the case. Your package reached the PO Box but that doesn't mean someone has come to pick up their mail yet.

As a city kid, that was a really hard concept to wrap my head around. I married a farm boy who lived in the middle of NOWHERE. The town he lived in had no stop lights or grocery store, etc. Just a wheat co-op and 150 whole people. I got a whole new appreciation for the word civilization. I'm not a shop-a-holic but I do like to live in a town that actually has more than 2 stop lights, at least a few trees, cable and internet.

Thanks for the positive thoughts. I don't have a ton of space in my house so I go grocery shopping every day. Seems totally normal to me. I can't imagine not getting mail everyday but Sunday - that was a total foreign concept when I lived in the UK. I guess I'm just used to being here. Thanks for helping me to see things in a different perspective!

I finally mailed out my package today - its traveling quite far, across the "pond". I think I made the deadline by one day. Yikes :)
