    Potholders must be at least 8x8

    and...

    GLAD you changed the size from 5" to 8" square. I didn't think about it at first but just picked up a 5" charm and there would be NO WAY I could take anything out of the oven with a 5" potholder.

    Question: if we don't use 100% cotton fabric on the outside, what would we use? Like you said polyester would melt.

    E.T.A. - not 100% cotton but one can use denim or towels?

    Yup, denim, towels, linen... any fabric that wouldn't melt.

    you can put ironing board cover (gray, heat resistant) as a insulation for potholders along with batting.

    After reading all this, I just HAVE TO join in!! I have been wanting to make potholders for Christmas gifts, and this will be a big help. Let you know how many later.

    I've got all 10 of my "fronts" made. They're ready to be assembled, which I should be able to start on tomorrow night. :)

    They're all scrappy, in several color schemes. Sneak peek below! :mrgreen:
