Does anyone have any ideas that they would like to see in a block swap??
Trying to get some ideas for a future swap.. |
Brights in whites pieced blocks. Bright fabrics all with a kona snow back ground or other decided on white.
1930 fabrics and traditional blocks from that time. Sun Bonnet Sues 1930 Ocean tropical beach theme A scrap block that when put together will make a secondary theme |
I veto all of these! No more cute, can't resist swaps! Got it? I'm thinking something with black plaid flannel which is just right for some, but I could definately resist. ;)

She helps twists arms, so we can now twist hers whether she likes it or not!
|
Fraew now I got to know you I will definitely tempt you to come and play with us. You are too much fun. So what type of swaps do you think are fun?

Nice stash buster and super easy- Four Patch chain http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FourP...ock_Page2.html The only think I would change is the part of the block that has 4 small squares making a 6 in. square in each corner. I would just make a 6 in. square to start out with. I like this one even more- Goose Creek http://www.quilterscache.com/G/Goose...ock_Page2.html We would need to decide on color layout in order to make sure we could see the secondary pattern and to make sure all blocks would play nice, so which are the lights and if it is all bright fabrics or muted. Oh well that is more then you asked for. I am always a sucker for Patriotics bright or muted any swap. |
I did, check out the other thread you asked that question on, I did nto want to retype it, my arm is still sore.
|
Ideas:
I was thinking for one but not sure how it would fly, but a crazy patch block exchange. There is always a flower block swap theme since it will be going into winter time and the dulldroms will come upon us and this way could be made by the spring to enjoy, then there is birds-funky or normal, of course could always do a quilting/sewing/craft themed quilt which I am not sure I have even seen as a swap. There, will that help for some ideas? Wow, you are such a twister girl. |
I think an all canning jar quilt swap would be fun...
Love the sun bonnet sue with 1930's idea... I see a lot of farm, jungle, etc themes.... but never an ocean theme..... whales, dolphins, seahorse etc. I would like that... boys themes..... Space stuff..... pirates...... |

I am a sucker for just about anything. For example, I thought I didn't need chickens or farm animals. And then...you guys post blocks that I can't resisit...and tell jokes that make me roll on the floor laughing...and then I sign up...you know the rest. I am into "period" these days: Traditional Civil War, 30s fabrics and blocks. I wouldn't be able to resist a scrappy star; mason jar; funky house pets (like what the dogs, cats, fish, birds and hamsters are up to when no one is home) or color themed like red/white/blue, red/white, black/yellow, etc. |
So you must have had fun doing my boom block then Fraew, it being a 30s fabric and all. Also, did you sign up for the civil war block swap? I think i saw your name there.
|
I vowed no more sewing swaps and y'all just have the most cute ideas! I vote for every swap y'all tempt me with you also finish one of my UFO's! :D haHaHa
|
UFOs can be done girl, the swaps just help to get the UFO done. That is what motivates me to finish mine.

I know I would not be able to resist a Sun Bonnet Sue with 1930 fabrics. It has been on my wish list for as long as I quilt. Some how I always missed them. I love all the other ideas mentioned too and the boy swaps. I do know the timing of a swap is important for me. right now I want to be sure I have adequate time to complete my swap commitments. With Nov. and Dec. around the corner I could not have a swap like Sun Bonnet Sue ending till well into 2013. Wow! |
Lots of great ideas!!
|
Ok... I have just finished sorting all the blocks.
We had 12 swappers & a total of 222 blocks!!!! It would be hard for me to pick a favorite block, they are all great. Hope to get these in the mail by the end of the week. |
Wow, that is a lot of blocks. I am sure we will all get different ones back. Oh thank you ms grace for being the block shuffler. It is better than the alternative those animals are leaving there.
|
Yes, I tried to be very careful so everyone got different blocks back.
You may get more than 1 from a person, but if you do, they will be from her different sets. They are super cute! |
Oh sounds so wonderful. Excited to say the least.
|
Yippee.........they're coming home..........I can hardly wait!
Grace, thanks for hosting and orchestrating this swap......it's been so much fun and I can't wait to put my little piece of heaven together with all those cute and crazy farm jokes on the back...... |
All my farm animals are home. Picture time! :D

Oh anna, those are so cute. I received mine today as well and it was so fun to lay them out. (I'm a pig fan, so if anyone wants to do a side piggy swap, pm me.. :D
|
Sheri, if you did not recieve one of my piggies, pink piggy on bright green mottled back ground, I'd gladly trade you. I did not realize we would receive our own blocks back so I had made an extra set for myself. It is sitting and waiting for you, if you want, center bottom front of picture. Oink, oink!

I received my blocks today as well. Love everyone of them. I got such a variety. So excited to say the least. I am here. If you notice that my screen name has changed a little. For the last week, I've tried to log in on my old name, and it would not let me. It's like I never existed! So, I had to register under a new "name". I know lots of you have probably sent pms to me. Well, of course I have no way of getting to them. I've lost my log-in, pm's, feed back scores...everything!!:( Don't know what happened!! Sorry for being MIA, it's not my fault. |
Now you have to start all over again for those feed back scores. That is no fun.
