I'm always amazed at the creativity shown in this swap. Those Scandinavian cross stitch hearts are charming. I may have to pull out my red floss and stitch a small sampler this winter.

Love the tiny packed full package my swap partner sent to me. How fun to open. The elf on a shelf slippers are so cute! I also got handmade candy corn soap, a I love NY ornament (made with sparkly beads), and a little sheer gift bag with lip gloss, a heishe bracelet, a soft velvet hair tie and a lucky sticker.

Cardinals in NC
2 Attachment(s)
My gift from Linda (eyes) means so much. Not only is the cardinal the state bird of NC but folks believe that when you see a cardinal it represents a visit from a loved one in heaven. I have always equated the cardinal with my mom who passed away when I was only seventeen. Linda, this was a gift meant especially for me. Thank you so much. I love the cardinal knitted into the dishcloth as well. I found a pattern for one with a dachshund that you have inspired me to try.

Nelda, I just opened my little package. I could not imagine what would be in that small envelope that was so thin. But now I know. A beautiful embroidered ornament with a filled stocking on one side and woven heart on the other. Precious, oh so precious and delicate. It will be added to my tree on Saturday when the grands come to help me decorate. Thank you so much.
MizMelly, there are very fine clear thread hangers on the snowflakes. You may just have to search for them. Such fun to make these again. It has been years. |
Just opened my festive package from Nonnie4. Thanks so much, Connie! Love the ornaments and extra goodies -- and the star arrived in perfect condition! I'll try to post photos tomorrow so everyone can see the cute tree made of yoyos and the lovely fabric star (not sure if you'd say it's made of prairie points or...) Anyway, I'll definitely get pictures up asap so everyone can enjoy this wonderful package of gifts. I think I'll hang the ornaments in my sewing room as inspiration. Thanks again, Connie, and Merry Christmas!
|
Nelda, love the light bulb border around the heart -- I'll have to remember that! My mom did beautiful crewel embroidery. Looks like you have the same gift for that.
Hasn't everyone gotten beautiful ornaments so far? Love this swap! |

Nelco asked me to post a pic of the ornament I sent her. It's one of these. Sorry, I don't remember which one I sent!!

OMG! This ornament swap was gifted just for me with notions I didn't have and wanted and adorable tree ornaments with a piece of sweet candy. I feel like Kathy was peeking in my windows. A very big and sincere 'thank you' Kathy. You made my day!
|
I am in need of two angels. Please email me if you are available. Both are stateside.
|
The angel spots have been filled. Thank you, Nonnie and Eyes.
|
Yes, Logcabin82, I would also like the source of the pattern for your ornament. Can you post it here for us all to see? Thanks.
|
I got my ornament today!! :) It's a cute, black kitty, like my own little black kitty!! :) She's adorable!

LogCabin82, we are near neighbors! I am from Portage and my son lives in Lansing. If your little black kitty ornament disappears, check out my tree. Too cute! I have a whole passel of kitty ornaments that grace my spare bathroom which is has been officially named the "Kitty Bathroom". LOVE IT!

have been busy getting a quilt done for Xmas gift ( about 3/4 quilted) and totally forgot it was opening day. So here it is on the 3rd of December before I remembered. Got a beautiful fat quarter of red fabric that has sewing notions on white outlines on it, a tube of Utterly Smooth hand cream, two chocolate covered marshmallow treats and a cut grey felt mitten ornament with snowman face on it. MANY THANKS TO CookyIN . Will try to post picture but i'm lousy at that.
Have4Boys--glad you liked the package I sent. I started out with the on ornament and then decided on the stockingwhich then ballooned into a family of stockings. |

Roseirish, so glad you like it! I found that snowman face button set a few years ago and have been wanting to use them. When I decided to do a felt mitten, it seemed like the perfect project for them. I hope this fits into your Christmas tree, as I didn't use traditional red and green, but thought you could also tuck it somewhere to brighten the dreary winter months. Happy Holidays!

My angel took flight to our friend yesterday! Should arrive on the seventh. I had an angel send to me last year when Boop56 got sick. I haven’t heard anything on the boards from her in a while. I think about her often and hope all is well. Anyway, it was nice to be able to pay it forward. Thanks Have4boys for keeping us all straight. This swap is a great part of the season!

Janey & John, thanks for the multiple tutorials. They are getting me all ready for making some quick gifts for neighbors and friends. Perfect.
|
Please remember to send a PM thanking your swap partner and post a picture. Everyone likes to know their work was appreciated.
|
Thanks for he reminder, Hav4boys. Will do!.

Thanks for looking up. Sorry I haven't posting anything yet. I made these a few months ago and I haven't been able to find where I put the pattern. :(. I will keep looking though!

Sorry to intrude, but I looked this up and found a few others that were similar, or at least made from fabric. The ornaments look like the ones at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq934F4_KKY and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNfVUR9-RRo There is a pdf at http://www.sewingandbeyond.com/userf...%20Folding.pdf I found another that is hexagon shaped, but lined with the points that are stitched to the outside edge rather than the middle at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZlJn_QkvaM

Okay everyone, I took a photo of Nonnie4's wonderful gift package she sent but can't figure out how to post a picture. Can anyone help please? When I try to insert a pic it asks for the URL. I'm clueless! Thanks in advance.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button. I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures. https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...p-location.jpg Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...d-t312607.html Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB Click on red "Reply" button Click on the paper clip icon Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post) Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload" After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post. Thanks for the info, OurWorkbench! I have to get ready to go to work now but will try your tips as soon as possible.

That upload button is so far off to the right it was hard to find originally. You have to use that bar on the bottom of the screen until you see it. But, once you know where to look, it is a breeze.

Here we go; had to go into "Advanced Reply" to find the right buttons. Thanks!
Photo doesn't show the cute silver jingle bell Nonnie4 sewed onto the bottom of the tree to secure the yoyo's. Love it! |

I received two packages today with ornaments. I’ve been thoroughly spoiled. Thank you so much Nonnie4 and LindaC! Beautiful ornaments and thoughtful extras.

I wish I had taken pictures of my sent ornaments and goodies. My swap partner is MIA. I never even saw her name on the list of swappers. Very strange indeed.
